On Wednesday, March 1 2023, the University of Indonesia again held an open professor inauguration session offline at the UI Convention Center and online via the UI Faculty of Engineering Youtube channel. Three professors from the UI Faculty of Engineering were confirmed in this open session, namely Prof. Ir. Antony Sihombing, MPD., Ph.D. from the Department of Architecture, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Suryanegara, S.T., M.Sc., IPU. from the Department of Electrical Engineering, and Prof. Dr. Ir. Praswasti Pembuilder Dyah Kencana Wulan, M.T. from the Department of Chemical Engineering. The professor inauguration open session was chaired directly by the Chancellor of the University of Indonesia, Prof. Ari Kuncoro, S.E., M.A., Ph.D.
In the event procession, Prof. Antony delivered an inaugural speech entitled “A Series of Notes on a Long Journey in Villages and Cities: Study of the Concept of Rukun and Mutual Cooperation”, Prof. Suryanegara delivered an inaugural speech entitled “From Graham Bell to 6G Mobile Communications: Innovation, Regulation and Technology Management towards Vision Indonesia 2045”, and Prof. Praswasti delivered an inaugural speech entitled “Nano and Carbon Technology: Production and Applications in the Field of Composite Materials and Health”.
“With the inauguration of these three professors, FTUI now has 76 active professors and is the second-ranked faculty at UI with the most number of GB. UI itself currently has 348 active GB registered, consisting of 260 GB NIDN, 85 GB NIDK and 3 GB Emeritus. For 2023, Prof. Anthony, Prof. Praswati, and Prof. Suryanegara are the 3rd, 4th and 5th Professor to be confirmed. Currently, FTUI is submitting 7 GB candidates which are currently being processed. Hopefully, in the future these professors can carry out their mandate and responsibility in educating future leaders of the Indonesian nation,” said the Dean of FTUI, Prof. Dr. Heri Hermansyah, ST., M.Eng., IPU.
