FTUI Holds Entrepreneurship Seminar to Support Students and Alumni in Entrepreneurship

The Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Indonesia (FTUI) in collaboration with E-Corp FTUI held an entrepreneurship seminar with the theme Capturing Startup Business Opportunities in the Renewable Energy Sector: Projections and Challenges.

This activity aims to disseminate information related to entrepreneurship and encourage FTUI students/alumni to be able to engage in entrepreneurship, one of which is in the field of renewable energy. In this activity, FTUI presented speakers who are directly involved in the world of renewable energy, Amarangga Lubis the Co-Founder of Solarkita and Prof. Dr. Ir. Adi Surjosatyo, M.Sc. as the Director of the Tropical Renewable Energy Research Center (TREC).

“This activity is a concrete form of FTUI to support FTUI students and alumni who want to become entrepreneurs. This is also in line with the tagline carried by FTUI to create superior and impactful entrepreneurs. That way, in the future FTUI, can become a forum for developing business ideas, especially in the field of engineering,” said the Dean of FTUI, Prof. Dr. Heri Hermansyah, ST., M.Eng., IPU.

“Currently, FTUI students and alumni have great potential to innovate and develop businesses in the engineering field,” explained Amarangga Lubis. On this occasion, Amarangga also explained the concept of entrepreneurship with a profit orientation and beneficial for others. According to him, by applying this concept, the business being run is not only self-beneficial but can also provide benefits to others.

Participants can interact directly and learn a lot from the speakers. This seminar activity is an opening activity for other entrepreneurship activities. Going forward, FTUI will organize similar activities, such as Innovation Into Invention (i3) which is an entrepreneurship boot camp activity. In addition, the webinar activities that will be carried out will also be more diverse covering many topics in the field of entrepreneurship. This activity is certainly support to encourage the talents and ideas of FTUI students and alumni in building entrepreneurship.
