Strengthening Innovation Cooperation, FTUI Receives a Visit from Polytechnic Singapore

On Tuesday (07/02), the Faculty of Engineering, University of Indonesia (FTUI) received a visit from Polytechnic Singapore to discuss the potential for collaborative innovation.

During this visit, the Polytechnic Singapore group was represented by Toh Ser Khoon, Director of Industrial and Partnership (INP), Tang Soo Yin, Center Director for User Experience Center (UXC) Specialist, Frank Lee, Senior Manager Business Development Consultant, and Goh Siak Koon, Executive Director Live Well Collaborative Singapore (LWC-S).

The Polytechnic Singapore delegation was welcomed by the Head of the FTUI Innovation Entrepreneurial Unit, Dr. Muhamad Sahlan, S.Sc., M.Eng., Cooperation Manager, Venture and Alumni, Dr.-Ing. Ir. Dalhar Susanto, Secretary of the Entrepreneurial Innovation Unit and Head of Logistics, Dr. Imam Jauhari Maknun, S.T., M.T., M.Sc. This meeting was also attended by FTUI Department leaders including the Head of the Civil Engineering Department, Ayomi Dita Rarasati, S.T., M.T., Ph.D., Head of the Mechanical Engineering Department, Dr. Agus Sunjarianto Pamitran, ST., M.Eng., Head of the Electrical Engineering Department, Dr. Eng. Arief Udhiarto, S.T., M.T., Head of the Department of Metallurgy and Materials Engineering, Dr. Deni Ferdian, S.T., M.Sc., Head of the Chemical Engineering Department, Dr. Bambang Heru Susanto, ST., MT.

During his visit, Polytechnic Singapore discussed potential collaboration in several fields such as:

  1. Training and collaborations on i4.0 Digital Transformation & Advanced Manufacturing,
  2. Business Design/ Entrepreneurship/ Technopreneurship,
  3. C-D-I-O (CDIO) in Education,
  4. Design Thinking, Education Pedagogy and Management.

Dean of FTUI, Prof. Dr. Heri Hermansyah, ST., M.Eng., IPU said, “The development of innovation and technology does not have national boundaries. Research collaboration between institutions is very important for sharing knowledge, sharing experiences and collaboration for future research development. Hopefully, this collaboration will run smoothly and open up opportunities for other collaborations in the future.”

Head of the FTUI Innovation Entrepreneurial Unit, Dr. Muhamad Sahlan, S.Si., M.Eng. added, “FTUI has a special interest in innovation and entrepreneurship collaboration, especially in opening opportunities for collaboration with international partners. Hopefully, this meeting can strengthen the relationship between FTUI and Polytechnic Singapore.”
