The Master Program of Faculty of Engineering Universitas Indonesia was opened in 1992 with four study programs: Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Metallurgy Engineering. In 2000, the faculty opened the Master Program for Chemical Engineering (from Gas Engineering Study Program in Metallurgy Engineering Department), Industrial Engineering (from Industrial Management Study Program in Mechanical Engineering Department) and Architecture. By the end of the year, the Optoelectronic and Laser Application study program joined the Master Program of Faculty of Engineering Universitas Indonesia.

Each Study Program in the Master Program is headed by a Head of Study Program held in ex-officio by the Head of Department. Each Department have one or more specialization to give a more in-depth and specific engineering knowledge to each student of said study program.

Civil Engineering Study Program have eight specializations:

  1. Project Management – Regular Class Depok Campus
  2. Project Management – Special Class Salemba Campus
  3. Construction Management – Regular Class Depok Campus
  4. Construction Management – Special Class Salemba Campus
  5. Infrastructure Management – Regular Class Depok Campus

  9. Water Resource Management – Regular Class Depok Campus

Mechanical Engineering Study Program have six specializations:

  1. Energy Conversion (KE) – Regular Class Depok Campus
  2. Bulding Utilities and Fire Safety (SUBAK) – Regular Class Depok Campus
  3. Design and Product Manufacture (PEMAP) – Regular Class Depok Campus
  4. Automation and Manufacture System (SMO) – Regular Class Depok Campus
  5. Vehicle Engineering and Heavy Equipment – Regular Class Depok Campus
  6. Marine Resoruces and Technology (TSDM) – Regular Class Depok Campus

Electrical Engineering Study Program have eight specializations:

  1. Telecommunication Management – Special Class Salemba Campus
  2. Electrical Power and Energy Management – Special Class Salemba Campus
  3. Security of Information Network Engineering – Special Class Salemba Campus
  4. Electrical Power and Energy Engineering – Regular Class Depok Campus
  5. Telecommunication Engineering – Regular Class Depok Campus
  6. Control Engineering – Regular Class Depok Campus
  7. Multimedia and Information Engineering – Regular Class Depok Campus
  8. Photonic and Electronic Engineering – Regular Class Depok Campus

Metallurgy and Materials Engineering Study Program have two specializations:

  1. Materials – Regular Class Depok Campus
  2. Corrosion – Regular Class Depok Campus
  3. Materials – Special Class Depok Campus
  4. Corrosion – Special Class Depok Campus

Architecture Study Program have six specializations:

  1. History & Theories of Architecture – Regular Class Depok Campus
  2. Architectural Design – Regular Class Depok Campus
  3. Architecture and Sustainability – Regular Class Depok Campus
  4. Property Development – Regular Class Depok Campus
  5. Urban Housing and Settlement – Regular Class Depok Campus
  6. Urban Design – Regular Class Depok Campus

Chemical Engineering Study Program have two specializations:

  1. Chemical Engineering – Regular Class Depok Campus
  2. Gas Management – Special Class Salemba Campus

Industrial Engineering Study Program have five specializations:

  1. Innovation and Ergonomics – Regular Class Depok Campus & Special Class Salemba Campus
  2. Industrial Management – Regular Class Depok Campus & Special Class Salemba Campus
  3. Data Engineering & Quality – Regular Class Depok Campus & Special Class Salemba Campus
  4. Systems Engineering – Regular Class Depok Campus & Special Class Salemba Campus
  5. Production Systems and Logistics – Regular Class Depok Campus & Special Class Salemba Campus

Length of Study and Academic Load

Academic load in the FTUI’s Master Program curriculum is 40-44 credits after finishing the undergraduate program. The scheduled length of study is four semesters and in the implementation, the Master program can be completed in at least two semesters and a maximum of six semesters. Academic Load for each semester is set by the Academic counselor (PA) based on the IPS of the last semester as stated in the Semester Grade list (DNS).

Types of Classes:

Regular Class Program is held full time from Monday – Friday in FTUI Campus, Depok.

Special Class Program is held especially with the following details:

  1. Special Class program for Metallurgy & Materials Engineering: Saturday (08.00 am – 07.00 pm) in FTUI Campus, Depok.
  2. Special Class program for Industrial Engineering: Friday (06.30 pm – 09.00 pm) and Saturday (08.00 am – 05.00 pm) in FTUI Campus, Salemba.
  3. Other Special Class program: Monday – Friday (06.30 pm – 09.00 pm) in FTUI Campus, Salemba.

Accreditation of FTUI Master Programs

The National Board of Accreditation for Higher Education (BAN-PT) has awarded the following accreditation level to the FTUI Master Programs: Civil Engineering (A), Mechanical Engineering (A), Electrical Engineering (A),  Metallurgy and Materials Engineering (A), Architecture (A), Chemical Engineering (A) and Industrial Engineering  (B).

In 2008 & 2010, the Departments of Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Metallurgy and Materials Engineering, Architecture and Chemical Engineering have been accredited by the Asean University Network (AUN); and also In 2013 Departments of Industrial Engineering have been accredited by the ASEAN University Network (AUN).
