Winner Once More: FTUI Students Wins the East Asia Japan Schneider Electric Competition

Students of Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Indonesia wins first place in the East Asia International in Japan of the Schneider Electric “Go Green in the City” Competitionon June 10, 2016.

The two students majoring in Mechanical Engineering class of 2013,  represent Indonesia, after winning the same competition at the national level back in 18-19 May 2016.

With the project “Droplock Turnstile Gate”, the Scarf team consisting Nabila Lauria and Stephanie Rawi managed to beat nine other teams from Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines, Singapore, Malaysia, and Myanmar. In September, Scarf teams will advance to the final of the world level against 11 international teams from various countries in Paris.

Droplock Turnstile Gate turnstile gate is an idea that can generate its own electricity. The idea is to create alternative energy solutions by utilizing the wasted energy of rotary motion created by the gate of the fence. This idea uses the simple concept of the gear ratio to produce electricity. (PR Office FT)
