Direktorat Penjaminan Mutu Akademik Universitas Indonesia Conducts Laboratory Visits and Verification at Fakultas Teknik Universitas Indonesia

The Faculty of Engineering Universitas Indonesia (FTUI) welcomed a visit from the Academic Quality Assurance Directorate (DPMA) of Universitas Indonesia as part of a laboratory data collection and verification program conducted across FTUI from April 28–30, 2026. This initiative forms part of broader efforts to strengthen laboratory quality assurance systems and map the functions and services of laboratories within Universitas Indonesia.

The activity commenced with a meeting held in the FTUI Leadership Meeting Room, coordinated by the FTUI Academic Quality Assurance Unit (UPMA). Representatives from DPMA UI who attended the meeting included Dian Wulandari, S.K.M., M.M., Head of the Subdirectorate of Management Quality Assurance; Nyiayu Halimatussa’diyah, S.Si., Head of the Laboratory Quality Section; and Yunita Loen, S.E., Laboratory Quality Data Processing Staff.

In his remarks, Prof. Dr. Ir. Akhmad Herman Yuwono, M.Phil.Eng., Vice Dean for Education, Research, and Student Affairs of FTUI, expressed his appreciation for the visit from DPMA and emphasized the importance of collaboration in improving laboratory quality management within FTUI. He also expressed hope that the laboratory data collected through this activity could eventually be integrated into the Universitas Indonesia system, enabling easier access to and optimal utilization of laboratory data.

“Through this laboratory data collection and verification activity, we hope to establish a more standardized and integrated laboratory management system that can support the improvement of education quality, research, and academic services within FTUI,” said Prof. Dr. Ir. Akhmad Herman Yuwono, M.Phil.Eng.

Meanwhile, Dian Wulandari explained that DPMA is currently expanding its duties and functions, including responsibilities related to laboratory accreditation. This visit aims to develop a comprehensive laboratory database within Universitas Indonesia as a foundation for future planning, quality evaluation, and laboratory development. In addition, the activity seeks to identify laboratory management conditions and map the types, functions, and services of laboratories for educational, research, and testing purposes.

“This activity is an important step in developing the Universitas Indonesia laboratory database while also supporting the sustainable development and accreditation of laboratories,” said Dian Wulandari, S.K.M., M.M., Head of the Subdirectorate of Management Quality Assurance at DPMA UI.

DPMA also reaffirmed its commitment to supporting laboratory accreditation processes within UI, including through accreditation mentoring and facilitation programs. One of the FTUI laboratories currently pursuing accreditation is the testing laboratory of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (DTSL), which is applying for ISO 17043:2023 accreditation through the Promoting Research and Innovation through Modern and Efficient Science and Techno Park (PRIMESTeP) program initiated by the Directorate of High Impact Innovation and Research UI.

During the three-day program, the DPMA team visited various laboratories across FTUI, including laboratories within the Departments of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Architecture, and Metallurgical and Materials Engineering. The team also visited laboratories located in the IDE Building and the i-CELL Building at FTUI.

Through this initiative, FTUI and DPMA UI are expected to further strengthen their synergy in developing laboratory governance systems that are more standardized, adaptive, and oriented toward enhancing the quality of education and research within Universitas Indonesia.
