This symposium is the First International Symposium in Biomedical Engineering Symposium in Indonesia and was held on 31 May \u00a0&#8211; 01 June 2016 in Margo Hotel, Depok. The Symposium was opened by the Vice Rector for Research and Innovation UI,\u00a0<strong>Prof. Dr. rer. nat Rosari Saleh,\u00a0<\/strong>accompanied by the Vice Dean for Education, Research, and Student Affairs FTUI,\u00a0<strong>Dr. Ir. M. Asvial, M.Eng<\/strong>\u00a0and General Chair of ISBE 2016, <strong>Dr. Basari.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In this symposium, over 70 best papers are categorized into several categories:\u00a0Biomaterials &amp; Biomimetics (15 papers), Biomedical Imaging &amp; Informatics (5 papers), Biosensors &amp; Biomedical Instrument (14 papers), Drug Development &amp; Delivery (21 papers), Medical Reagents &amp; Devices (7 papers), and Rehabilitation Engineering (7 papers).<\/p>\n<p>The symposium have five keynote speakers:\u00a0<strong>Prof. Eko Supriyanto<\/strong>\u00a0from UTM Malaysia; <strong>Prof. Jun Ohta<\/strong>\u00a0from Nara Institute of Science Technology, Japan;<strong> Prof. Kim Sukyoung<\/strong>\u00a0from Yeungnam University, Korea; <strong>Prof. Amin Soebandrio<\/strong>\u00a0from the Faculty of Medicine\u00a0UI; and\u00a0<strong>Dr. Lee D.
