The 2016 SOMChE Committee is pleased to announce that abstract submissions are now open and available via our website.http:\/\/www.curtin.edu.my\/somche2016\/<\/a><\/p>\n

SOMChE 2016 will be held from 1st<\/sup> December to 3rd<\/sup> December at Miri Marriot Resort & Spa, Miri, Sarawak, Malaysia which is located on the island of Borneo. With the theme of `Engineering Solutions for Sustainable Development\u2019, the symposium will be holding technical & industrial presentations for the wide range of topics as follows<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Food Process Engineering<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Energy Conversion and Management including Renewable and Alternative Energy<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Biotechnology and Bioprocess Engineering<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Water & Waste Treatment and Management<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Carbon capture, storage and sequestration<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Materials, including nanomaterials, polymers, composites and new generations of materials<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Separation processes<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Reaction Engineering and Catalyst Technology<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Process System Engineering, including process modeling, simulation, optimisation and control<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Chemical Engineering Education<\/p>\n

Papers from other areas related to the main theme are also welcome.<\/p>\n

Confirmed keynote speakers include Professor Ahmad Fauzi Ismail (UTM, Malaysia), Professor Pogaku Ravindra (Universiti Malaysia Sabah), Professor Vishnu Pareek (Curtin University, Australia), Professor Xiao Dong Chen (Soochow University, China), Professor Lee Keat Teong (USM, Malaysia), Professor Taufiq Yap (UPM, Malaysia) and Dr Charlie Yeo (CEO\/Chief Scientist, Sarawak Biodiversity Centre).<\/p>\n

Types of submissions can be either technical paper or review paper. Presentation formats will be available in both oral and poster form and authors are requested to nominate their preference during the submission process. High quality submitted papers will be considered for publications in Fuel Processing Technology (ISI Journal, 2014 IF: 3.352), International Journal of Food Engineering (ISI Journal, 2014 IF: 0.497), Chemical Product and Process Modeling (SCOPUS indexed Journal), ASEAN Journal of Chemical Engineering (SCOPUS indexed Journal) and Water Conservation Science & Engineering (a new Springer journal).<\/p>\n
