Prof. Dr. Ing. Ir. Kalamullah Ramli, M.Eng., a professor at the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Indonesia (FTUI), received a prestigious award from the ASEAN-Japan Cybersecurity Community Alliance (AJCCA) on October 17, 2024. This award recognizes his dedication and contributions to strengthening cybersecurity collaboration in the ASEAN and Japan regions.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Prof. Kalamullah Ramli was honoured in the Country Champion category alongside eight other notable figures for his role in developing cybersecurity solutions based on research published in various leading journals. In addition to his active research, he has also contributed to establishing cybersecurity research and study centres at UI.<\/p>\n

The award, part of the Cyber Security Week held in Singapore, is known as the AJCCA Cyber Resilience Award (ACRA). Singapore\u2019s Minister of State for Digital Development and Information, Ms. Rahayu Mahzam, emphasized the critical role of the cybersecurity community in addressing increasingly complex threats and praised the cross-national collaboration exemplified by the award recipients.<\/p>\n

This award highlights the outstanding performance of awardees from 2019 through August 2024, evaluated against five core criteria aligned with AJCCA\u2019s Vision, Mission, and Values. The criteria include Dynamic Leadership, Resilience, Trust, Respect, and Collaboration. This year\u2019s inaugural ACRA 2024 recognized 19 individuals from Japan and ASEAN countries for their dedication to advancing AJCCA\u2019s vision of \u201ca dynamic and resilient cybersecurity community in our region through trusted and respectful collaboration.\u201d These recipients have shown a strong commitment to promoting cybersecurity and resilience in their respective countries, supporting the growth of a secure digital ecosystem across the region.<\/p>\n

Prof. Kalamullah Ramli expressed his gratitude and appreciation to AJCCA for the award. \u201cI am honoured and grateful to be recognized with the AJCCA Cyber Resilience Award (ACRA) \u2013 Country Champion from Indonesia, awarded for the first time. This reflects not only a personal acknowledgement but also recognition of the role, contribution, and impact of the Indonesia Cyber Awareness and Resilience Institute \u2013 Universitas Indonesia (id-CARE.UI) on the nation, the ASEAN region, and the Digital Ecosystem in Asia-Pacific,\u201d stated Prof. Kalamullah.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are extremely proud of Prof. Dr. Ing. Ir. Kalamullah Ramli, M.Eng., for this accomplishment. This award not only acknowledges his dedication to strengthening cybersecurity collaboration in ASEAN and Japan but also reflects FTUI\u2019s commitment to creating impactful innovations in global technology security. We hope this achievement inspires our academic community to continue contributing to cybersecurity and technological advancement for the benefit of society at large,\u201d said FTUI Dean, Prof. Dr. Ir. Heri Hermansyah, S.T., M.Eng., IPU.<\/p>\n

The award also emphasizes the importance of collaboration among cybersecurity professionals at both domestic and international levels, especially within ASEAN countries. It is hoped that through this recognition, the contributions of Prof. Kalamullah Ramli and other cybersecurity practitioners will continue to strengthen cybersecurity collaboration in the ASEAN and Japan regions, fostering a safer and more resilient environment in the face of global cyber threats.<\/p>\n
