On Saturday (October 26), the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Indonesia (FTUI), specifically the Engineering Professional Program (PPI), held its first Alumni Meeting. The event took place on the 2nd Floor of the FTUI IDE Building and welcomed alumni from both the regular PPI program and the RPL (Recognition of Prior Learning) program, spanning from the first batch to the most recent.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

To kick off the event, the Chair of the Interdisciplinary Engineering Department, Ir. Chairul Hudaya, S.T., M.Eng., Ph.D., IPM, delivered his opening remarks: \u201cAlumni are one of the pillars of a university’s advancement. Alumni and the campus, though there may be no formal ties, are like a kite flying; the string isn\u2019t visible, but there is a connection. We can see how major universities out there rely heavily on their alumni for success. For example, in accreditation, evaluations consider the alignment between the campus program and the professional fields of its alumni, as well as their reputation.\u201d<\/p>\n

Next, the Head of the PPI FTUI Study Program, Prof. Dr. Ir. Fitri Yuli Zulkifli, S.T., M.Sc., IPU, presented the profile of the PPI, covering its history, the number of alumni, faculty members, accreditation, and the curriculum in place.<\/p>\n

The Chair of the FTUI Alumni Association (Iluni), Farrizky Astrawinata, also discussed the Iluni FTUI, detailing its history, organizational structure, and work programs. Farrizky explained the initiatives undertaken by Iluni FTUI as part of their community service, including the Rapid Response School and ANTARA (Temporary Housing). \u201cEvery alumnus involved in the management of Iluni FTUI must be driven by passion. And from that passion, we must find ways to improve the future,\u201d said Farrizky.<\/p>\n

Following this, elections were held for the organizational structure of the FTUI Engineer Alumni Association for the 2024-2027 period, with the following results:<\/p>\n

    The Dean of FTUI, Prof. Dr. Ir. Heri Hermansyah, S.T., M.Eng., IPU, also shared his thoughts: \u201cFTUI has been recognized as the best engineering campus in Indonesia according to Times Higher Education. This achievement is partly due to the synergy between Iluni and the campus, where one of the assessment criteria is employer reputation. We hope that the establishment of the FTUI Engineer Alumni Association will further enhance FTUI\u2019s status as a superior and reputable campus.\u201d<\/p>\n
