The signing ceremony, held at the University of Sydney, Australia, featured the Dean of FTUI, Prof. Dr. Ir. Heri Hermansyah, S.T., M.Eng., IPU, and the University of Sydney\u2019s Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Education, Professor Joanne Wright.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"group\/conversation-turn relative flex w-full min-w-0 flex-col agent-turn\">\n<div class=\"flex-col gap-1 md:gap-3\">\n<div class=\"flex max-w-full flex-col flex-grow\">\n<div class=\"min-h-8 text-message flex w-full flex-col items-end gap-2 whitespace-normal break-words [.text-message+&amp;]:mt-5\" dir=\"auto\" data-message-author-role=\"assistant\" data-message-id=\"fe13f099-d2a1-44c7-adfe-a61270749692\" data-message-model-slug=\"gpt-4o\">\n<div class=\"flex w-full flex-col gap-1 empty:hidden first:pt-[3px]\">\n<div class=\"markdown prose w-full break-words dark:prose-invert light\">\n<p>This collaboration marks a significant milestone in building international academic relations between the two institutions. It aligns with FTUI\u2019s vision to equip students with internationally recognized qualifications and prepare graduates to compete globally.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFTUI has 25 years of experience in hosting International Class programs, offering both single and double-degree pathways. This partnership with the University of Sydney will commence in 2025, offering a \u20182+2\u2019 academic track. Students will complete two years of study at FTUI and another two years at the University of Sydney. Graduates will receive degrees from both universities,\u201d said Prof. Heri.<\/p>\n<p>The FTUI-University of Sydney double degree program includes Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, and Electrical Engineering. It aims to enhance students\u2019 cross-border academic experiences and bolster their global competitiveness. Participants will benefit from studying in two high-quality educational environments, gaining access to academic and professional networks in both countries and earning dual international degrees. Additionally, they will acquire a deeper understanding of global technology and industrial practices, thereby improving their career prospects in the international job market.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are thrilled about this collaboration with the University of Sydney, an institution of global repute. This program will enrich our students\u2019 academic experience, provide them with access to diverse research opportunities, and better prepare them professionally for the global arena,\u201d Prof. Heri Hermansyah stated.<\/p>\n<p>Beyond the double degree program, the two universities also discussed potential research collaborations and the possibility of establishing the University of Sydney as a future study-abroad destination for FTUI students. This partnership underscores both institutions\u2019 commitment to fostering academic excellence and international collaboration, preparing future engineers to address global challenges.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis partnership not only opens academic opportunities for students from both institutions but also strengthens international relations between Australia and Indonesia in higher education. We believe this collaboration will produce graduates capable of addressing global challenges and contributing to various professional sectors. Looking ahead, we see great potential to expand this partnership, including joint research initiatives and knowledge exchanges that will further enrich the relationship between our universities,\u201d said Professor Joanne.<\/p>\n<p>The event was also attended by FTUI Vice Dean for Resources, Ventures, and General Administration, Prof. Ir. Mahmud Sudibandriyo, M.Sc., Ph.D., and Head of FTUI International Office, Dr. Fadhilah Muslim, S.T., M.Sc., Ph.D., DIC. Representing the University of Sydney were the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Hesham El Gamal; Deputy Dean for Education, Prof. Teng Joon Lim; Vice President of Sydney Future Students, Shane Griffin; International Director, Tim Field; International Agreements Manager, Darren Svanfelds; and Double Degree Program Coordinator, Jessica Davis.<\/p>\n<p>FTUI is recognized as Indonesia&#8217;s top engineering faculty in the QS World University Rankings 2024 and leads in technological innovation at the national level. According to the 2023 and 2024 THE World University Rankings, FTUI was named the Best Engineering Campus in Indonesia.<\/p>\n<p>FTUI is widely known for its flagship programs focusing on sustainable technology development and environmental sustainability, as well as its success in producing highly competent engineers ready to contribute on an international scale.<\/p>\n<p>The University of Sydney, on the other hand, is Australia\u2019s oldest university and consistently ranks among the world\u2019s top 50 universities.
