The visit aimed to expand international networks, enhance the quality of the International Class Program (KKI) Double Degree, and strengthen relations with FTUI students and alumni studying in Australia.

During the visit, FTUI signed four cooperation agreements that will serve as the foundation for the future development of FTUI’s international programs. These agreements include: an Agreement of Implementation (AOI) for the Double Degree Bachelor’s Program in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering with the University of Sydney (USYD); AOI for the Double Degree Bachelor’s Program in Environmental Engineering with Monash University; AOI for the study abroad and student exchange program with Queensland University of Technology (QUT); and AOI for the Double Degree Bachelor’s Program in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering with Curtin University.

“This visit is also concrete proof of FTUI’s vision to continue developing innovative programs that support global student mobility. This collaboration not only enriches students’ academic experiences but also strengthens FTUI graduates’ competitiveness in the international job market. FTUI students now have access to world-class education and will become success stories that enhance FTUI’s position in the global academic network,” said Prof. Heri.

During the visit, FTUI held intensive discussions with the leaders of partner universities at both the university and faculty levels. Various strategic issues such as curriculum mapping, the development of study abroad programs, and the exploration of broader academic collaborations were also discussed. These discussions reaffirmed FTUI’s commitment to continue providing high-quality global education that is relevant to the needs of the times.

In addition to the cooperation agreements, the FTUI delegation also held monitoring and evaluation sessions with FTUI KKI students and alumni in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, and Perth. These discussions provided a platform to hear directly from students, understand their needs, and refine the implementation of the program for the future.

Prof. Heri further emphasized that this visit was a strategic step to strengthen FTUI’s competitiveness on the international stage. “This cooperation not only enriches the academic experience of our students but also solidifies FTUI’s role as a world-class engineering education institution,” he stated.

With a commitment to continuously innovate education and expand its global network, FTUI is moving forward as an institution that not only produces outstanding graduates but also prepares future leaders who are competent and globally competitive.

***

Public Communication Office
Faculty of Engineering Universitas Indonesia

The Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Indonesia (FTUI) once again demonstrated its commitment to the development of international education by completing a business visit to five leading universities in Australia from November 9 to 16, 2024.
