A team consisting of three students from three different universities\u2014Universitas Indonesia (UI), Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), and Universitas Brawijaya (UB)\u2014won 3rd place in the IISMA-E eChallenge Bootcamp 2024. The competition, held over a period of six weeks, featured 10 teams composed of awardees from the IISMA Entrepreneur program at the University of Adelaide. The winners <\/span>were announced<\/span> on December 19, 2024, with a prize of 150 Australian dollars.<\/span><\/p>\n

A student from the Faculty of Engineering Universitas Indonesia, <\/span>Hasna Hamida Nurkamila<\/span><\/strong> (Industrial Engineering <\/span>UI \u2018<\/span>21), collaborated in one team with <\/span>I Gusti Ayu Maresta Amrita P.P.<\/span><\/strong> (Economics <\/span>UGM ‘<\/span>21) and <\/span>Nevanda<\/span> Audry Tesata Kusuma<\/span><\/strong> (Biology <\/span>UB ‘<\/span>21). Together, they achieved this accomplishment through an innovative platform they developed called <\/span>MyJor<\/span><\/strong>. This platform helps high school students choose the right academic major for their future studies.<\/span><\/p>\n

Equipped with Augmented Reality (AR) experiences, personalized tests, one-on-one mentoring, and industry visits, the platform aims to give users the confidence to make informed decisions about their academic future. Through personalized assessments, <\/span>MyJor<\/span><\/strong> helps students match their potential with the best academic majors. With its comprehensive features, the platform claims to offer superior services to its competitors.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cM<\/span>yJor was created because 87% of students feel they have chosen the wrong academic major in Indonesia. <\/span>This<\/span> leads to wasted time, energy, and financial resources. This challenge arises from the lack of personalized guidance tailored to their <\/span>individual<\/span> interests and specific goals. Traditional systems fail to equip students with the necessary tools to explore and select the right major,<\/span>\u201d<\/span><\/strong> explained Hasna and her team.<\/span><\/p>\n

Acting Dean of FTUI and Vice Dean for Resources, Ventures, and General Administration, <\/span>Prof. Ir. Mahmud Sudibandriyo, M.Sc., <\/span>Ph.D.<\/span>,<\/span><\/strong> also expressed his hopes, stating,<\/span> \u201c<\/span>Hopefully, with the collaboration between these three leading universities, the product they have created can reach global markets and become a trusted platform for its users<\/span>.\u201d<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

The IISMA-E eChallenge Bootcamp 2024 <\/span>was organized<\/span> by <\/span>ThincLab<\/span><\/strong>, <\/span>The University of Adelaide<\/span><\/strong>. The Adelaide Business School supports ThincLab as a business incubator supporting students, <\/span>alumni<\/span>, staff, and startups. <\/span>ThincLab<\/span><\/strong> assists founders and their innovative ventures through tailored training and programs delivered by various industry experts to help bring their ideas to market. The <\/span>Australian eChallenge<\/span><\/strong> is an entrepreneurial program where participants create, develop, assess, and follow through on their ideas. The program provides tools, networking opportunities, and mentoring to help participants kickstart their entrepreneurial journeys.
