The Indonesia Cyber Awareness and Resilience Center at Universitas Indonesia (idCARE.UI), in collaboration with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), organized a training program titled <\/span>Cybersecurity Awareness & Risk Management<\/span><\/em> at the i-CELL Building, Faculty of Engineering UI. The training was held from April 10 to 17, 2025, and was offered free of charge to participants. Participants from Bangladesh attended, with a special focus on enhancing top management awareness of cybersecurity issues.<\/span><\/p>\n

The event began with welcoming remarks from Ms. Amelia <\/span>as<\/span> the <\/span>Project<\/span> Local Coordinator, followed by Prof. Arief Udhiarto as the Board of Director, and Mr. Hiroyuki Ide from JICA, serving as the Chief Advisor. After the introductions and a group photo session, participants proceeded directly to Module 1, which discussed <\/span>decision-makers<\/span> perceptions of cybersecurity.<\/span><\/p>\n

In his opening remarks, Prof. Arief Udhiarto stated, <\/span>“This training is a strategic step toward building cybersecurity awareness at the highest organizational level. We believe that understanding and commitment from top management are crucial in fostering a strong and sustainable digital security culture. Through collaboration with JICA and <\/span>idCARE<\/span>, we hope participants can become agents of change in their respective institutions.”<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

The first day also included a comprehension test, a film-based group discussion, and practical tests conducted by <\/span>idCARE<\/span>. The topics covered ranged from current cyberattack trends (Module 3) to risk management and organizational mitigation strategies.<\/span><\/p>\n

The second day focused on risk management (Module 5) and effective reporting techniques to top management (Module 6). Guided by Mr. Victor Arief Maulana, participants received in-depth training on communicating the urgency of cybersecurity to decision-makers, complete with presentation exercises and discussions. The second day concluded with a Networking Dinner, further strengthening connections among participants and trainers across countries.<\/span><\/p>\n

On the final day, participants engaged in a Mock Training session, where each was allowed to present cybersecurity material as if they were trainers themselves. <\/span>This session allowed participants to <\/span>directly<\/span> apply the knowledge they had acquired.<\/span> The program concluded with a post-test and final evaluation.<\/span><\/p>\n

This training is part of a strategic initiative by JICA and idCARE to build cybersecurity capacity in partner countries<\/span>, with the<\/span> hope that participants will become change agents within their respective institutions.<\/span> Strong awareness and leadership from top management are expected to serve as the frontline defense in safeguarding organizational digital assets in today\u2019s highly connected era.<\/span><\/p>\n
