In collaboration with Jaya Obayashi, the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Indonesia (FTUI) held a Mini Workshop titled<\/span> “<\/span>Step Beyond Borders: Calling Future Talents to Lead The Change<\/span>“<\/span><\/em> on Tuesday, May 20, 2025. The event occurred at the Smart Meeting Room GK 305 FTUI and <\/span>was attended<\/span> by 38 students.<\/span><\/p>\n

The event began with opening remarks by the Vice Dean for Resources, Ventures, and General Administration of FTUI, Dr.-Ing. Ir. Dalhar Susanto, who expressed his hopes for the collaboration.<\/span> \u201c<\/span>Through activities like this, students <\/span>not only gain technical knowledge but also<\/span> an understanding of work culture and professional ethics needed to compete globally.<\/span> This<\/span> is an essential foundation <\/span>to<\/span> become<\/span> internationally competitive engineers,<\/span>\u201d <\/span>he stated.<\/span><\/p>\n

The <\/span>next<\/span> speech <\/span>was delivered<\/span> by Kohei Noma, Director of Jaya Obayashi, who shared the <\/span>company\u2019s<\/span> commitment to supporting the development of young Indonesian talents.<\/span> \u201c<\/span>We believe that young talents from Indonesia have great potential to contribute to the international construction industry. Through this program, we aim to pave the way for FTUI students to become part of our future global projects,<\/span>\u201d <\/span>said Kohei.<\/span><\/p>\n

The core session of the workshop lasted for one hour. It covered three main topics the Jaya Obayashi team delivered: <\/span>Work in Japan Presentation<\/span><\/em>, <\/span>Construction<\/span> Department Introduction<\/span><\/em>, and <\/span>Mechanical<\/span> & Electrical Department Introduction<\/span><\/em>. These sessions provided in-depth insights into Japanese work culture, project management systems in construction, and the critical roles engineers play in mechanical and electrical systems.<\/span><\/p>\n

The event concluded with an interactive Q&A session. Students enthusiastically explored career opportunities at Jaya Obayashi and delved into the technical and cultural challenges they may face.<\/span><\/p>\n

This Mini-Workshop serves as <\/span>FTUI’s<\/span> tangible step in preparing students for the international job market while strengthening strategic ties between Indonesian higher education institutions and global construction companies.<\/span><\/p>\n
