Seoul National University is pleased to announce that\u00a0\u300c<\/strong>SNU President Fellowship<\/strong>\u300d<\/strong>\u00a0is available for the\u00a0Spring 2020 semester<\/strong>.\u00a0We would like to invite qualified students who demonstrate academic promise for the next semester! Please refer to the following information for detailed description of the scholarship.<\/p>\n

SNU has always emphasized the importance of \u2018virtue and compassion\u2019 to our students, and also hopes that our students would become a leader with \u2018virtue and compassion\u2019, caring for others and their community at large.<\/p>\n

Based on the recognition that the main driver for Korea’s national development\u00a0has been its human capital, Korea is now responsible to share its experiences with other developing nations. Recognizing its global social responsibility, SNU offers\u00a0\u300cSNU President Fellowship\u300d\u00a0to provide opportunities to faculty members of major universities in developing countries (in Asia, Africa, South America)\u00a0to pursue their Ph.D. degrees at SNU.<\/p>\n

In order to be eligible\u00a0for the scholarship, an applicant must be admitted\u00a0and\/or enrolled to\u00a0SNU first. Please note that all the evidentiary documents must be original(except for transcripts) and submitted by the college\/department on behalf of students to the Office of International Affairs.<\/p>\n

An applicant must be BOTH:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
1. a faculty of major universities WITHOUT Ph.D. degree from developing countries in Asia, Africa, South America etc.<\/p>\n

2.\u00a0 newly admitted students to SNU as Ph.D. student for\u00a0Spring 2020 semester<\/strong><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Selection priority will be given to faculty members from major universities in developing countries in Asia, Africa, South America etc.<\/p>\n

Research Areas<\/strong><\/p>\n

Applicants can apply to pursue Ph.D. in any research areas but selection priority will be given to applicants doing exceptional work in engineering, medicine, public health, agriculture, developmental studies, Korean studies, etc.<\/p>\n
