A Post-Doc grant is open for research under the project CutInov – Innovative laminates of carbon fiber for the simultaneous flexural and shear/punching strengthening of reinforced concrete elements, No. 38780, co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (FEDER) through the Operational Program COMPETE.
Field of study: Civil Engineering
Admission requirements: PhD Degree on Mechanical Engineering, Physics or related course. English proficiency is required, of speech and of writing. Preference is given to candidates who have formation in mechatronics and knowledge in computer languages for the development of software.
Job description: Execution of an experimental program for the assessment of the effectiveness of the new CFRP laminate for the flexural and punching strengthening of reinforced concrete slabs.
Legislation and regulations: Law N º. 40/2004 of 18 August (Status of Scientific Research Fellow); Grants Regulation Research Foundation for Science and Technology, IP – 2013.
Workplace: The work will be developed in the in the installations of the CLEVER Company and in the Department of Civil Engineering, at the research unit ISISE-School of Engineering, University of Minho, under the scientific guidance of Professor Joaquim António Oliveira Barros (UM) and Engº Filipe Dourado (CLEVER).
Grant period: The grant will have the duration of 10 months, starting in 1 October 2014.
Remuneration: The monthly remuneration is € 1495, according to the rules of FCT of research grants for those who hold the PhD Degree (http://alfa.fct.mctes.pt/apoios/bolsas/valores).
Methods of selection: The selection methods to be used are the following: 1) Final ranking in one of the following MsC or similar: Mechanical Engineering, Physics or related course, 2) Publications; 3) Previous participation in research projects; 4) English proficiency; 5) Interview: 1) 25%, 2) 25% (6 points for publications in ISI journals, 3 points for publication in a non ISI journal, 2 points for national magazines and international conferences; 1 point for national conferences; 0.5 points to scientific technical report) 3) 25% (10 points per project, with a bonus of 5 points if the project is related to the theme of this project); 4) 15% ; 5) 10%.
