34 FTUI Students was Awarded IISMA 2022

A total of 34 students from the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Indonesia (FTUI) successfully passed the selection of the 2022 Indonesian International Mobility Awards (IISMA) scholarship program. These 34 FTUI students were part of the 195 UI students who successfully passed. This year, UI is the number one university in Indonesia that sends the most students to continue their studies for one semester at well-known universities in America, Asia, Australia and Europe.

The Dean of FTUI, Prof. Dr. Heri Hermansyah, ST., M.Eng., IPU expressed his pride in the achievements of FTUI students. “The 34 FTUI students who have successfully passed the IISMA 2022 are the highest number at the University of Indonesia. FTUI students show outstanding achievements and have won scholarship programs to various prestigious universities from around the world, including the University of British Columbia, Nanyang Technological University, The University of Pennsylvania, The University of Edinburgh, Korea University and many more.”

IISMA is one of the Independent Learning Campus Independent Programs (MBKM) of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia. IISMA is one of the flagship programs of the 12 Merdeka Learning Campus Merdeka (MBKM) programs in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbudristek) and the Education Fund Management Institute (LPDP) which aims to provide opportunities for students to take study up to 20 credits at partner universities abroad.

This program enables eligible students of four to six semester undergraduate programs at universities within the Directorate General of Higher Education of the Ministry of Education and Culture to take three to four courses outside of their study program at the top 10 universities in the host country or partner universities abroad.

The IISMA 2022 program aims to provide rights and opportunities for students to develop competencies and knowledge, as well as provide study experience at foreign universities as an implementation of the Independent Learning Program-Independent Campus from the Ministry of Education and Culture. Through the IISMA program students can learn multidisciplinary knowledge based on their respective interests through courses for self-development and in accordance with the applicable requirements at partner universities abroad and the student’s home university.

Not only that, the IISMA program provides opportunities for students to increase cross-cultural understanding, increase networking at the international level, and provide experiences for students to get future careers.

The IISMA program equips students with the skills needed for the future world of work, namely, sense-making, social intelligence, novel & adaptive thinking, cross-cultural competence, computational thinking, new-media literacy, transdisciplinarity, design mindset, cognitive load management, and virtual collaboration. Each participant will receive tuition fees, living expenses, health insurance, visa and airline tickets, as well as costs for the COVID-19 test (PCR) and quarantine.
