Celebrating 77th Indonesian Independence Day, FTUI Again Holds Flag Ceremony

“After more than two years of being hit by the Covid-19 pandemic, thanks to the hard work of the Government together with all components of the nation, we were able to overcome the pandemic well. We can recover faster and rise stronger, so we are still given the opportunity to attend the commemoration of the 77th Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia at the Dean Building of the Faculty of Engineering, University of Indonesia,” said Prof. Dr. Ir. Yanuar, M.Eng. while leading the flag ceremony celebrating the 77th independence of the Republic of Indonesia.

The flag ceremony at the independence day celebration was again held at FTUI after previously being vacuumed for two years due to the pandemic. The ceremony, which was held in the courtyard of the FTUI Dean Building on August 17, 2022, was attended by more than 200 lecturers, education staff and students who enthusiastically attended the flag ceremony.

“I am very happy to finally be able to participate in the FTUI flag ceremony again. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen friends and lecturers in the atmosphere of Independence Day. Even though the ceremony is only for a short time, the spirit of an independent Indonesia needs to be maintained through these national activities,” said Nuruli Exiarni, FTUI’s education staff.

More Prof. Yanuar said in his mandate as the supervisor of the ceremony, “Let us at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Indonesia, take steps together to work in real terms to continue the struggle and development to fill independence, especially the development of higher education to become our core business at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Indonesia. Only through real work, joint commitment, can the noble ideals of our nation as affirmed in the Preamble of the 1945 Constitution be realized, namely being able to stand firmly as a sovereign and educated nation.”
