Dean Greets Department of Electrical Engineering: Researcher Profession Career and Educational Waqf Crowd Funding

The activity of the Dean Greeting the Department of Electrical Engineering (27/01) began with a presentation delivered by the elected Head of the Department of Electrical Engineering, FTUI, Dr. eng. Arief Udhiarto, S.T., M.T. The event was also attended by the Dean of FTUI, Prof. Dr. Heri Hermansyah, S.T., M.T., IPU and the two Vice Deans of FTUI for the period 2022-2026, Prof. Dr. Ir. Yanuar, M.Eng., M.Sc. and Prof. Ir. Mahmud Sudibandriyo, M.Sc., Ph.D. Apart from Dr. Arief Udhiarto, also present was Dr. Abdul Halim, M.Eng, Secretary of the Department of Electrical Engineering while around 34 teaching staff within the Department of Electrical Engineering, FTUI joined the meeting virtually.

“On January 21, all the FTUI management have been appointed and have started working. This week until next Monday, the Vice Deans and I will greet the department with the intention of listening to input, aspirations, suggestions, comments and even criticism for the good of the next four years. It is better to receive input at the beginning of the first three months so that the work for the next four years can be carried out properly,” said Dean Heri in his speech.

The Dean Greet Department roadshow activity is a forum for dialogue for faculty leaders, in this case the Dean and the two Vice Deans to convey the prepared programs and also listen to aspirations, suggestions, input and advice from the department regarding matters that can be accommodated in future activity programs .

At the roadshow event, several notes of advice that became the attention of the Dean and the two Vice Deans were related to the opportunities for funds and assets from the Educational waqf and the possibility of a research professor position that could be placed in FTUI research centers, as is currently being carried out at IMERI FKUI.

Based on PP 75 related to the UI statutes, it is listed the possibility of a career as a researcher which can be an answer to the lack of human resources in FTUI research centers who can  fully focus on research. It is hoped that in the future the research center can recruit researchers without having to become a lecturer in the study program first. Crowd Funding of Educational Waqf in the form of funds and assets is a very interesting suggestion and will soon be formulated by the Associate Dean for Cooperation, Venture and Alumni institutionally.
