FTUI Adds Smart Classroom Supported by Paragon to Accelerate Education

The Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Indonesia (FTUI) has added high-tech classroom facilities as part of preparation for lectures in the new normal era. This New Normal Classroom is the realization of the collaboration between FTUI and PT Paragon Paragon Technology and Innovation. UI Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. rer.nat. Abdul Haris, Dean of FTUI, Prof. Dr. Heri Hermansyah, ST., M.Eng., IPU., and Group CEO ParagonCorp, Harman Subakat, were present to opening of the FTUI New Normal Classroom which was held on Wednesday (25/05) at the FTUI Depok campus.

“The New Normal Classroom is a classroom system that uses the latest technology to improve the quality of student learning during the pandemic period into the future. With a hybrid learning system, face-to-face capacity restrictions, and easy-to-clean rooms, the New Normal Classroom is able to optimize teaching and learning activities while maintaining the safety of the FTUI academic community during this pandemic. In the future, FTUI will continue to increase the number of Smart Classrooms, both large and small,” said the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Indonesia (FTUI) Prof. Dr. Heri Hermansyah, ST., M.Eng., IPU.

FTUI’s new normal Smart Classroom is a modern and interactive classroom equipped with tables and chairs that can be adjusted according to the lecture mode. In addition, this classroom is also equipped with interactive smart boards, smart TVs, poly studio facilities, and smart projectors that have various advanced features to support various offline and hybrid learning models.

In his welcoming speech, Prof. Abdul Haris said, “The construction of learning facilities at UI aims to facilitate teaching and learning activities in order to build an innovation ecosystem among students. UI is very grateful for Paragon’s commitment to this development through one of its CSR pillars, namely education. We hope that, with the support of industry, in this case Paragon, the existing learning facilities can be a catalyst for the spirit of innovation among students to create new breakthroughs that are able to build the Indonesian nation.”

The development of the technology-based FTUI education system has the full support of PT Paragon Paragon Technology and Innovation. “As the largest local cosmetic company in Indonesia, Paragon Technology and Innovation (Paragon) has a close partnership with the Universitas Indonesia (UI) as a form of Paragon’s commitment to support research activities and encourage the acceleration of national education. Through the construction of learning facilities at UI, we hope that more innovations will be born from students to build the Indonesian nation,” said Harman Subakat.
