FTUI Research Forum Holds Talkshow Preparation of Kemendikbud Dikti Grant Implementation Proposals for Lecturers

On Monday (7/2), the Research Forum of the Faculty of Engineering, University of Indonesia (FTUI) held an online talk show with the theme “Preparation of the Kemendikbud Dikti Grant Implementation Proposal”. The Academic Higher Education Scientific Research Program is a research grant to accelerate the implementation of the Merdeka Learning program on the Merdeka Campus. This event presented two speakers, namely Sugeng Supriadi, S.T., MS.Eng., Ph.D from the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Dr. Basari, S.T., M.Eng. from the Department of Electrical Engineering.

The research grants from the Ministry of Education and Culture, Research and Technology 2022 will focus on the topics of food, energy, drug health, transportation, engineering products, defense and security, maritime, social, humanities, arts and culture, and multi-sectoral research. The Ministry will provide grants on research that has an academic, social and economic impact. Then, research that is oriented towards innovation and research that can be implemented.

Met on a separate occasion, the Dean of FTUI, Prof. Dr. Heri Hermansyah, ST., M.Eng., IPU., said that there are several schemes offered by the government in providing research grants, one of which is the decentralization scheme. “This scheme is a superior basic research scheme or superior applied research for higher education, which is a form of pure research and becomes the main research activity. This research will produce publications in the form of journals or books.”

“The beginning of research is topic selection. Research can be done from topics that have been or are being worked on. Then, do a mapping of research facilities and Human Resources (HR). This mapping is useful for facilitating research work, such as determining suggestions and research buildings, tools “What tools do you already have for research, readiness of test equipment, simulators, laptops/PCs, willingness of members or research assistants,” said Dr. Basari, S.T., M.Eng.

After the topics and infrastructure had been prepared, Sugeng Supriadi, S.T., M.s.Eng., Ph.D explained the stages of proposal preparation according to the format prepared by the Ministry of Education and Culture, Research and Technology. Add pictures and flowcharts to clarify descriptions and road maps and supporting documents. After the proposal and files have been prepared, researchers can submit them on the Simlitabmas page. If the proposal has been approved, the researcher can continue the research. However, if the grants and grants have not been reduced or there is a change in the budget, the research team can continue to work and produce outputs in the form of draft journals, books, or Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) according to the collection schedule. Grant funds will drop in May-June from the proposal submission period in February.
