At the 58th Anniversary of the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Indonesia (FTUI) which was celebrated at the UI Campus yesterday (Monday, 18/07/2022), this faculty received donations of 9 smart classrooms which were handed over directly by its partners. The theme of the Anniversary is ” Synergy Rise for the Nation” was attended by the Vice Rector for Research and Innovation UI, drg. Nurtami, Ph.D., Sp, OF(K), UI Vice Rector for Human Resources and Assets, Prof. Dr. Ir. Dedi Priadi, DEA., head of faculties and schools at UI, and Deputy Mayor of Depok, Ir. H. Imam Budi Hartono who is also an alumni of the UI Faculty of Engineering.

This smart classroom is a modern and interactive classroom. The table and chair formations in the room can be changed according to the lecture model. This classroom is equipped with interactive smart boards, smart TVs, poly studio facilities, and smart projectors that have various advanced features to support various offline and hybrid learning models.

In his remarks, the Rector of UI, Prof. Ari Kuncoro, S.E., M.A., Ph.D., said, “Currently, Universitas Indonesia is preparing to welcome new students in the odd semester of 2022/2023 offline. Various educational and research support facilities are continuously prepared to provide comfortable and safe educational services for our students. One example is the provision of smart classrooms to support hybrid educational activities at FTUI. Hopefully in the future, more and more industries will be called upon to make donations to improve UI education services for the academic community.”

The same thing was also conveyed by Prof. Dr. Heri Hermansyah, ST., M.Eng., IPU as the Dean of FTUI. “In accordance with the theme of this year’s FTUI Anniversary, now is the time for FTUI, for UI, and for Indonesia to rise up. The presence of industrial partners today clearly proves that by collaborating and synergizing between educational institutions, FTUI and industry, we can rise together towards FTUI Superior with Impact for the country.”

On the same occasion, an educational collaboration was signed between PT Sucofindo and FTUI, represented by Mas Wigrantoro Roes (President Director of PT Sucofindo) and Prof. Heri Hermansyah. This collaboration includes collaboration in the fields of education, research, community service, and business development, including cooperation in the field of non-degree program education, master’s programs, and independent internship programs in engineering. The signing of the cooperation in the field of education was also carried out between FTUI and the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) represented by Dr. Nelly Florida Riama, S.Si, M.Sc.
