Strengthening Synergy Between Universities and Industry, FTUI Receives Visits from President University and Jababeka Group

Universitas President and JABABEKA Group visited the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Indonesia (09/06) to discuss the possibility of cooperation between the two universities and the synergy between universities and industry, in this case the Jababeka Group. Cooperation between FTUI and President University is being explored, including in the fields of education, accreditation and curriculum. Also attending the visit were the Chairman of JABABEKA Group, Setyono Djuandi Darmono, Chairman of the Presidential Education Foundation, Prof. Dr. Ir. Budi Susilo Supandji, Chancellor of President University, Prof. Dr. Ir. Chairy, S.E., M.M. and the Dean of FTUI, Prof. Dr. Heri Hermansyah, ST., M.Eng., IPU.

In his speech, Prof. Heri revealed that this year FTUI is focusing on 3 values, “This year FTUI is starting to focus on 3 values, Modernization and Internationalization, Excellence and Impact and Entrepreneurship. Modernization of facilities, changing conventional classes into smart classrooms, virtual and remote laboratories. Internationalization is a double degree with FTUI partner universities.”

In addition, the Dean of FTUI hopes that from this visit they can establish further cooperation, “Hopefully this first meeting will not be the last one and hopefully we can continue to have collaborative meetings, both in the fields of education, research, and community service.”

On the same occasion, the Chancellor of the President University hopes that this meeting will strengthen cooperation between FTUI and President University, “We hope this morning’s visit can be an implementation of the MOU between UI and President University which was signed on February 20, 2019. Hopefully today’s visit can give birth to a plan for the implementation of cooperation between FTUI and the President’s University. One of them is entrepreneurship. Hopefully this collaboration can be useful, both for President University and for FTUI.”

In his presentation, the Manager of Cooperation, Venture and FTUI Alumni, Dr.-Ing. Ir. Dalhar Susanto conveyed several collaborations that could be established by FTUI and President University, “Some of the collaborations that can be established are Credit Earning (MBKM), Professional Engineer Education (RPL Class), Masters/Doctoral Education, Practicum Implementation, Technical Assistant (Curriculum Development), Technical Assistant (LAM Engineering Accreditation/IABEE) and Technical Assistant (Cutting Edge Engineering Teaching Method).”

After discussing cooperation, the group went on a tour around UI by riding the UI Electric Bus and ended at the i-CELL FTUI Building. The group saw the exhibition of FTUI’s innovation products before continuing the event with the podcast Synergy of Higher Education and Industry Towards Technology Independence.

The Presidential University delegation and Jababeka Group who were also present were the Secretary of the Presidential Education Foundation, Prof. Dr. Jony Oktavian Haryanto, Treasurer of the Presidential Education Foundation, Justin Endramukti, and Lecturers of the President’s University. Meanwhile, from FTUI, the Cooperation Manager, Ventures and FTUI Alumni, Dr.-Ing were also present. Ir. Dalhar Susanto, Human Resources and Facilities Manager, Dr. Ajib Setyo Arifin, S.T., M.T., Manager of Public Communication and General Administration of FTUI, Tikka Anggraeni, S.Sos., M.Sc., CPR., Head of the Innovation Entrepreneurship Unit and Head of Reverse Engineering Center, Dr. Muhamad Sahlan, S.Si., M.Eng., Secretary of the Entrepreneurial Innovation Unit, Dr. Imam Jauhari Maknun, S.T., M.T., M.Sc. and the ranks of the Chair and Secretary of the Department within the FTUI environment.
