The Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Indonesia (FTUI), once again held an in-person pre-graduation event on August 8, 2024, at the Makara 04 Smart Meeting Room, FTUI Dean’s Building. This event is part of the preparations leading up to the Universitas Indonesia graduation ceremony, which will be held on August 24–25, 2024, at Balairung UI.
In his speech, the Acting Dean of FTUI, Prof. Ir. Mahmud Sudibandriyo, M.Sc., Ph.D., expressed his pride in the graduates’ achievements. “In 2024, FTUI has maintained its position as the best engineering campus in Indonesia according to Times Higher Education (THE) for two consecutive years. As graduates from the best engineering campus in Indonesia, I hope that you can become future leaders who bring positive change in the various fields you pursue and utilize the knowledge you have gained to continue working and contributing the best for the nation and the country,” said Prof. Mahmud.
The pre-graduation procession began with the presentation of the 2023/2024 Even Semester graduation data by Dr. rer. pol. Romadhani Ardi, S.T., M.T., Manager of Student Affairs, Research, and Community Service. This semester, FTUI graduated 1,553 students, including 60 graduates with summa cum laude honours and 626 graduates with cum laude honours.
Of the total graduates, 1,029 are from the Bachelor’s (S1) level, 90 from the Professional level, 390 from the Master’s (S2) level, and 24 from the Doctoral (S3) level. When divided by department, there are 300 graduates from the Department of Civil Engineering, 172 from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, 275 from the Department of Electrical Engineering, 139 from the Department of Metallurgy and Materials Engineering, 172 from the Department of Architecture, 185 from the Department of Chemical Engineering, 208 from the Department of Industrial Engineering, and 82 from the Department of Interdisciplinary Engineering.
The pre-graduation event continued with a congratulatory procession and a group photo session with the FTUI Vice Deans. Graduates were also provided with information about the Universitas Indonesia graduation ceremony to be held on August 24, 2024, as well as various preparations for the main event.
