The Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Indonesia (FTUI) has held a Regular Program Student Parents Meeting (POM) on Saturday, September 02, 2023. This activity was held at Balairung UI to introduce the Faculty of Engineering UI to the parents of new 2023 students.
In his speech, Prof. Dr. Heri Hermansyah, ST, M.Eng, IPU, as the Dean of FTUI, gave a warm greeting to all parents of new FTUI 2023 students. In addition to greeting the parents, Prof. Heri also introduced the faculty and department management of FTUI for the 2022-2026 period, as well as representatives from the Student Consultative Assembly (MPM) and the FTUI Student Executive Board (BEM).
“This week, your children have started their lecture journey at the Faculty of Engineering UI. Of course, there will be a period of adaptation from high school to college. Therefore, I hope you can give trust to your children to be able to develop themselves as students with all the dynamics that occur during their lectures,” said Prof. Heri.
On this occasion, FTUI presented a talk show session with four speakers, namely Dr. Nyoman Suwartha, S.T., M.T., M.Agr (Education Manager), Prof. Dr. Ir. Harinaldi, M.Eng. (Head of Education Modernization and Internationalization Unit), Dr.rer.pol. Romadhani Ardi, S.T., M.T. (Manager of Student Affairs, Research and Community Service), and Dr. Muhamad Sahlan, S.Si., M.Eng. (Head of Innovation Entrepreneurship Unit). Hosted by Dr.-Ing. Ir. Dalhar Susanto, the talkshow discussed various important aspects that parents need to know while their children are studying at FTUI.
Dr. Nyoman Suwartha reviewed the urgency of filling in Student Data (IDM), the impact of mistakes in filling in the Study Plan (IRS), and the study evaluation table. Furthermore, Prof. Harinaldi provided insight into the prohibition of plagiarism, cheating, and other forms of academic fraud. Dr. Romadhani discussed the importance of maintaining student mental health in the campus environment, while Dr. Sahlan explained career opportunities and business incubation programs that students can participate in.
POM 2023 received a warm welcome from around 1,500 parents of students who attended this event. POM FTUI 2023 is an important first step in supporting new students to succeed in achieving a superior and impactful future.
