To introduce the Faculty of Engineering Universitas Indonesia (FTUI) to the parents of the new batch of 2023 students who are members of the international class program, the Faculty of Engineering Universitas Indonesia (FTUI) held a Parent Student Meeting (POM) for the International Class Program. The event took place at the Auditorium Makara Art Center UI on Saturday, February 9, 2023.
Prof. Dr. Heri Hermansyah, ST, M.Eng, IPU, Dean of FTUI, said that in 2023, FTUI has accepted 2,479 new students, including 249 students from the international class program.
“One of the flagship programs in my period is modernization and internationalization. Therefore, we will gradually improve the international class program so that later we can accept more international class program students with a more diverse choice of university partners,” said Prof. Heri.
Prof. Heri also invited parents to continue to support their children during their time as students at FTUI, especially during the adaptation period to the lecture environment abroad. Furthermore, Prof. Heri also introduced the faculty and department management of FTUI for the 2022-2026 period.
The activity continued with a presentation session presented by Prof. Dr. Ir. Harinaldi, M.Eng., Head of the Education Modernization and Internationalization Unit, with the topic of discussion about international undergraduate classes, exchange programs, and study abroad. Prof. Harinaldi explained the difference between a Double Degree and a Single Degree, opportunities for exchange programs and study abroad, lecture schemes, and factors to consider when choosing a partner university.
The presentation was followed by a question and answer session with the department chairs moderated by Prof. Harinaldi and Fadhilah Muslim, S.T., M.Sc., Ph.D., DIC.
At the end of the event, Dr.-Ing. Ir. Dalhar Susanto, FTUI Manager of Cooperation, Ventures, and Alumni, provided information on the development of educational facilities being carried out by FTUI. The renewal of these facilities aims to improve the quality of student learning during their studies at FTUI. Through this activity, it is hoped to strengthen the synergy between parents, students, and faculty in supporting students to face academic challenges in an international environment.
