Career Development Center FTUI (CDC FTUI) provided a workshop related to updating the tracer study to lecturers and education personnel from the Polytechnic of Furniture Industry and Wood Processing (Polifurneka). Held from Monday to Thursday, 21-24 August 2023, this activity is one of Polifurneka’s Skills for Competitiveness (S4C) programs to continue to improve tracer study methods for its graduates. This activity is also a form of cooperation and knowledge sharing between UI and Polifurneka.
Dr-Ing. Ir. Dalhar Susanto, FTUI’s Manager of Cooperation, Ventures, and Alumni, added, “We see this collaboration as a golden opportunity to strengthen the relationship between FTUI and Polifurneka and have a positive impact on the alumni of both institutions. This Tracer Study update will provide better insights into alumni’s careers, assist them in their career development, and enhance the relationship with their alma mater.”
Mr. Yogi Akbar, who also serves as Acting. Assistant Director 3 of Cooperation, Student Affairs, and Alumni Relations at Polifurneka, stated, “We believe that this collaboration will bring great benefits to both parties. By sharing knowledge and experience, we can improve the quality of our Tracer Study, which in turn will help our alumni succeed in the world of work.”
In a collaborative atmosphere, the presenters and participants actively discussed the latest concepts in alumni tracking, and shared experiences, and formulated effective implementation strategies in the context of educational institutions. For four days, this activity was very interactive. On this occasion, UI also explained and shared the mechanism and questionnaire used in the implementation of the tracer study. This activity, of course, can add to the network of cooperation and also new knowledge for improving the implementation of tracer studies in the future.
The Dean of FTUI, Prof. Dr. Heri Hermansyah, welcomed the collaboration, “This partnership reflects a shared commitment between FTUI and Polifurneka in supporting the growth and development of their alumni. With the updated Tracer Study, it is hoped that these two institutions can continue to provide greater benefits to their alumni.”
At the workshop, several experts are experienced in the field of tracer studies, including Dr. Ade Solihat, S.S., M.A. as Head of the Sub-Directorate of Alumni Data Collection and Tracer Study UI, Rahmatullah as SKM from the CDC-UI Secretariat, and Rosmalita, S. Sos., M. Si. as FTUI CDC Coordinator.
