This year, for the first time, the Faculty of Engineering of Universitas Indonesia (FTUI) became one of the five best faculties in the provisional assessment of the UI Integrity Zone Award 2023. After an internal assessment by the UI TREM Bureau, FTUI proceeded to the next assessment stage, namely the Integrity Zone assessment interview together with a team of judges from the Directorate General of Higher Education Research and Technology (DIKTI).
There are two stages of assessment carried out. The first is an online interview from the DIKTI jury team held on Monday (04/09) and a direct visitation by the jury team held on Monday (11/09). The online interview was attended by the Dean of FT UI, Prof. Dr. Heri Hermansyah, ST, M.Eng, IPU; Vice Dean 1, Prof. Dr. Ir. Yanuar, M.Eng., M.Sc.; Vice Dean 2, Prof. Ir. Mahmud Sudibandriyo, M.Sc., Ph.D.; Change Agent, Integrity Zone Team, and 6 FTUI Leverage Coordinators.
The interview was opened with remarks from the Head of TREM UI Bureau, Vishnu Juwono, S.E., M.I.A., Ph.D., who emphasized the importance of integrity in the world of higher education. After the opening, the event continued with a video screening of the FT UI Integrity Zone explained by the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Dr. Heri Hermansyah, ST., M.Eng., IPU. In the question and answer session, there were 4 questions asked by the jury, one of which was about the FTUI Dean’s strategy in ensuring compliance in filling LHKPN /HKASN, gratuities, and other compliance.
Regarding gratuities and fraud, Prof. Heri explained, “Although FTUI has no reporting related to fraud, the system related to reporting is already available. Prevention of gratuities is always emphasized, especially related to procurement and auctions. Likewise with the doctrine that FTUI is free from KKN. Over the past year, FTUI has formed habits and built awareness such as the training adopted from the 7 habits which have been implemented by deans, vice deans, managers, and employees.”
In the direct visitation assessment stage, the DIKTI jury team visited the leading locations for implementing the Integrity Zone in the FTUI environment. The implementation of this interview and visitation activity is one form of FTUI’s contribution as a pioneer in creating a clean and integrity academic environment.
