214 Students Begin Their Academic Journey at FTUI Through Cooperative Education Program

Universitas Indonesia’s Faculty of Engineering (FTUI) began a new chapter in its efforts to impact the industry by welcoming 214 new students from twelve partner institutions in a cooperative classroom education program on Thursday (31/8). This educational collaboration with companies and government agencies aims to equip students with knowledge and skills that are relevant to current industry needs.

This year’s FTUI cooperative class education program involves eleven companies and agencies that are committed to improving the competence of human resources in Indonesia. The students, who come from various backgrounds, will undergo education at the master’s, doctoral and professional engineering levels.

The students are 15 from ENI Muara Bakau BV, 10 from BPH Migas, 10 from the Ministry of Transportation of the Republic of Indonesia, 10 from the Indonesian National Police, 4 from PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk, 7 people from the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), 2 people from PT Sucofindo, 10 people from PT Hutama Karya (Persero), 8 people from the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology (KOMINFO), 16 people from the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN), and 120 people from the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN).

In his speech, Prof. Dr. Heri Hermansyah, ST, M.Eng, IPU, Dean of FTUI, expressed his pride in welcoming the students of the cooperation program. He emphasized that FTUI is the best engineering campus in Indonesia and hoped that the students would feel the same way. Prof. Heri also ensured that the students will receive guidance from the best lecturers, which will help them become excellent and impactful people.

“I hope that after graduating, my colleagues can become excellent and impactful people. In addition, I also hope that during your studies you will build networks with collaborating students from other institutions. The network that is built can be used to work together to build the nation,” said Prof. Heri.

Also present were representatives from each partner agency who also conveyed positive messages. They emphasized the importance of this educational cooperation in producing smart and superior human resources and developing the companies and industrial sectors they represent.

Partner agency representatives who attended included: Doddy Harryanto, Head of the General Section of the Downstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Agency (BPH Migas); Bagus Cahya Arinta, Director of Human Capital & Transformation of PT Jasa Marga; Mr. Adit, Director of Human Capital & Transformation of ENI Muara Bakau BV; Budi Riyanto, S.E., M.M., M.Mar.E, Head of Planning of the Center for HR Development of the Transportation Apparatus, Ministry of Transportation of the Republic of Indonesia; Adityawarman, S.Si, MM., Head of Education Team from BMKG; Lusy Hutabarat, Head of Training Section of PT Sucofindo; Mardiansyah, Executive Vice President of Human Capital of PT Hutama Karya (Persero); Dwi Andina Rahajeng, Manager of Formal Education Management of PT PLN; and Head of ICT of Korlantas Polri, Kombes Pol Wisnu Putra, S.H., S.I.K.

At the end of the event, the Dean of FTUI, Prof. Dr. Heri Hermansyah, ST., M.Eng., IPU. along with representatives from partners who wore the UI Yellow Jacket alma mater to the students of the cooperation class education program.
