On Friday (15/9), PT Jaya Obayashi held a mini workshop entitled “Unleash Your Potential and Grow with Us”. This seminar was part of the Engineering Entrepreneurship Career and Internship Fair (ECIF), the largest job fair at the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Indonesia (FTUI). The event was held in the Smart Meeting Room, Dean’s Building and was attended by 61 participants.
In opening the event, Tikka Anggraeni, S.Sos., M.Si., CPR, Associate Dean for Public Communication and General Administration FTUI said, “This event will be an important platform for all of us, especially for students or alumni who aspire to build a career in Japan. PT Jaya Obayashi will provide valuable exposure to various information related to scholarships, and the recruitment process, and share experiences from professionals who have been successful in their careers. This is a golden opportunity for FTUI students and alumni to undergo a better decision-making process in determining career direction. Especially for engineer positions, Japan is currently one of the places that is in dire need of experts in this field.”
Rina Ambarwari, HRGA Manager of PT Jaya Obayashi explained that this company is a company engaged in construction with the scope of design, estimation, engineering, shop drawing, SQE, and MEP. PT Jaya Obayashi is a combination of two Japanese and Indonesian companies, Obayashi Corporation and PT Pembangun Jaya. The two companies united on January 28, 1972. Until 2023, PT Jaya Obayashi has a capitalization of 207 million billion yen.
Rina Ambarwari added, “Currently we have four recruitment programs, namely recruitment through online job portals, campus hiring, scholarships, and special recruitment for placement in Japan. We have conducted campus hiring activities at several universities in Indonesia, including the Universitas Indonesia.”
Hardi Tekyawan, Director of PT Jaya Obayashi continued to explain, “We offer scholarships to students with a minimum requirement of 5th semester, not currently receiving scholarships from other places, students from the Architecture, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Electrical Engineering departments. In addition, we will provide Rp2,000,000 every month to the scholarship recipients and most importantly, after graduating the students are directly employed at Jaya Obayashi. Registration starts April 1-October 31, 2023”
“PT Jaya Obayashi has a scheme for its employees to work in Japan with two years of Japanese language training and three years of work at Obayashi Corporation, Japan, then return to Indonesia to work in managerial positions at PT Jaya Obayashi,” said Toshiya Mitsui, Advisor of PT Jaya Obayashi.
In a separate place, the Dean of FTUI, Prof. Dr. Heri Hermasnyah, S.T., M.Eng., IPU. said, “This activity reflects FTUI’s commitment to presenting various opportunities and comprehensive preparation for our students. Workshops like this allow students to gain valuable insights, interact with industry practitioners, and explore the career opportunities available. With this kind of university-industry collaboration, we are confident that FTUI students will be better prepared to face the competitive world of work and make a positive contribution to the development of the industry and the country.”
