The Continuing Education Program (CEP) Center for Computing & Information Technology (CCIT) of the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Indonesia (FTUI), celebrated its 22nd Anniversary with a renewed spirit reflected in the theme “Technology for Sustainability: Building an Inclusive and Environmentally Friendly Future.” The event took place at the CCIT FTUI Auditorium, 3rd floor of the Engineering Center, FTUI, Depok.
Carrying the tagline “Inclusive & Sustainable Education,” this celebration was not just a birthday event but a moment of reflection to encourage sustainable innovation aligned with FTUI’s mission to produce exceptional talents in technology who are mindful of environmental sustainability and inclusivity.
In his speech, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Suryanegara, S.T., M.Sc., IPU, Director of CEP CCIT FTUI, emphasized the importance of sustainability in technology education. “At CCIT FTUI, we are committed to strengthening the foundation of inclusivity in education and promoting the implementation of environmentally friendly technologies. Today’s celebration marks a starting point for us to play an even greater role in building a better future,” he stated.
As a tangible expression of environmental awareness, the 22nd CEP CCIT FTUI Anniversary also featured a community service activity in the form of tree planting within the FTUI area. This activity aimed to remind the importance of the younger generation, especially students and the broader academic community, in preserving the environment amidst technological advancements. The tree planting served as a symbol of CEP CCIT FTUI’s commitment to sustainability and environmental care.
The tree planting event was attended by representatives from various collaborative partners and key stakeholders, including the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Indonesia, represented by Dr. Ajib Setyo Arifin, S.T., M.T., FTUI’s Human Resources and Facilities Manager. Also present were several CCIT FTUI partners, such as representatives from Bank Muamalat Indonesia and Bank Syariah Indonesia.
FTUI Dean, Prof. Dr. Ir. Heri Hermansyah, S.T., M.Eng., IPU, conveyed, “The 22nd Anniversary celebration of CEP CCIT FTUI is an important moment for us all to reflect on the role of technology in creating a better future. At FTUI, we are committed to continuously supporting sustainable innovations, not only in terms of advanced technology but also in ensuring inclusivity and environmental preservation. Through CEP CCIT programs, we hope to make a real contribution to society, nurturing outstanding talents capable of bringing positive changes to the future of Indonesia and the world.”
As an educational institution focused on developing information and communication technology, CEP CCIT FTUI believes that sustainability is not only about protecting the environment but also about providing inclusive access to education for all. With a strong spirit of sustainability, CEP CCIT FTUI is expected to continue evolving into an institution capable of nurturing outstanding talents in technology, with a focus on environmental sustainability and inclusivity.
