KATALIS IKM FTUI, Debriefing for FTUI Students to Face the Post-Campus World

The Faculty of Engineering, University of Indonesia (FTUI) has further strengthened its position as the best engineering campus in Indonesia with a focus on education, research, and community service. FTUI’s main mission is not only to graduate students with high academic achievements but also to shape them into agents of change who have a positive impact on society.

The importance of coaching and debriefing for FTUI students since the beginning of their studies is undeniable. One of the efforts made by FTUI is through the KATALIS IKM FTUI event: Keystone of Post Campus Empowerment Summit. It was held at Balairung Universitas Indonesia (4/11) and attended by 500 FTUI freshmen class of 2023. This event is a forum where FTUI alumni who have succeeded in the world of work share their experiences and provide valuable advice to students.

In KATALIS IKM FTUI, BEM FTUI as the organiser hopes that FTUI students will be better prepared to face challenges in the post-campus world. The event is also designed to help students build a strong professional network and become excellent and impactful individuals.

Director of Operations and Safety of PT Transportasi Jakarta, Daud Joseph, was the first speaker at the event. The 1997 FTUI Metallurgical and Materials Engineering alumni discussed leadership and the importance of communication in leadership. He shared his successful experience in managing Transjakarta since 2016.

President Director of PT Desain Ragam Inspirasi Studio, Andrisyah Tauladan, also appeared as the closing speaker of the KATALIS event. The 2003 FTUI Civil Engineering alumnus gave many valuable directions and challenged students to become convincing entrepreneurs. Industrial Engineering student class of 2023, Salsabila, even managed to answer this challenge by successfully convincing Andrisyah as an investor for her business plan.

Start-up founders who are FTUI alumni also shared their experiences in this event, inspiring students about the process of business ideas to the development of businesses that can withstand competition.

“Through its wealth of experience in producing the best graduates, the Faculty of Engineering UI continues to encourage students to have an entrepreneurial spirit. I hope that through active participation in various activities, the new students can develop an entrepreneurial spirit that will guide them to success, wherever their career path takes them,” said Dean of FTUI, Prof. Dr. Heri Hermansyah, S.T., M.Eng., IPU.

In addition to the presentations from the speakers, the event also involved activities such as mentoring sessions, exposure to the Innovation Entrepreneurship Unit, and the UI DISTP Business Incubator. All of these are FTUI’s concrete steps in equipping students not only with academic knowledge but also with the skills and entrepreneurial spirit needed in the post-campus world.

Romadhani Ardi, S.T., M.T., Head of the Innovation and Reverse Engineering Entrepreneurship Unit, Dr. Muhammad Sahlan, S.I., M.Eng., Secretary of the Innovation and Reverse Engineering Entrepreneurship Unit, Dr. Imam Jauhari Maknun, S.T., M.T., M. Sc., Manager of Public Communication and General Administration, Tikka Anggraeni, M.Si., and Head of the UI DISTP Business Incubator Unit, Prasandhya Astagiri Yusuf, Ph.D..
