FTUI Attends UI International Education Expo 2023

On Sunday (04/11), the Faculty of Engineering Universitas Indonesia (FTUI) once again participated in the UI International Education Expo 2023 which took place at the Purnomo Prawiro Multipurpose Hall UI. The event aimed to provide information about international class programmes available at UI. Receiving a warm welcome from the participants, their enthusiasm for this exhibition can be seen from the number of 2000 participants among students, teachers, and parents.

Routinely held since 2008, this time FTUI was present at the exhibition together with 7 other Faculties that organise International Class Programmes, namely the Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Dentistry, Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Economics and Business, Faculty of Psychology, Faculty of Law, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences and Faculty of Computer Science. The availability of booths from these faculties provides direct interaction opportunities for participants to obtain accurate and comprehensive information.

“This event allows participants to gain a better understanding of the international education opportunities offered by UI. Through this exhibition, we also had the opportunity to provide participants with detailed information about the various international class programmes provided by FTUI,” said Tikka Anggraeni, S.Sos., M.Si., CPR. as FTUI’s Public Communication and General Administration Manager.

In addition to exploring the faculty booths which became the main source of information, the participants could also dig deeper by attending the presentation sessions of each faculty. FTUI’s presentation was conducted by Fadhilah Muslim, S.T., M.Sc., Ph.D., DIC as the secretary of FTUI’s Education Modernisation and Internationalisation Unit. “In 2023, we established several new collaborations with several leading universities from various countries. Not only that, we are also gradually opening new study programmes for international classes. We are doing this so that prospective students have more options for universities and study programmes that suit their interests and goals,” said Fadhilah.

Currently, FTUI offers nine international double degree programmes with two new programmes, Environmental Engineering and Computer Engineering, which will open in the coming academic year. These international class study programmes have partnerships with several leading universities in various countries, including Australia, Germany, the UK, and Malaysia.

In a separate statement, the Dean of FTUI, Prof. Dr. Heri Hermansyah, ST., M.Eng., IPU, said, “The availability of international class programmes at FTUI is evidence of FTUI’s commitment to preparing Indonesia’s young generation through quality education in the international sphere. The cultural diversity and experiences that students encounter during their studies at partner universities will help shape them into individuals who are more tolerant, creative, and able to adapt to technological developments at the global level.”

UI’s international program has two admission routes, Talent Scouting and SIMAK UI. The Talent Scouting route involves selection based on students’ academic grades with the school playing a role, while the SIMAK UI route is based on a written test. In 2024, new admissions for the international class programme through Talent Scouting will be held in February-March, while SIMAK UI will be held in May-June. Information about this registration can be accessed through www.simak.ui.ac.id and the registration page at www.penerimaan.ui.ac.id.
