To ensure academic quality, the Faculty of Engineering, University of Indonesia (FTUI) took a step by organising the ISO 9001:2015 Internal Audit Week. The opening of the audit week took place in the Senate Room, FTUI Deanery Building on 1 November 2023.
Prof. Dr. Ir. Winarto, M.Sc., who serves as the Head of FTUI’s Academic Quality Assurance Unit, revealed, “The main objective of this audit week is to ensure that FTUI’s quality management system is following the requirements of the ISO 9001:2015 standard as well as the provisions set by FTUI. The internal audit also aims to ensure the implementation and maintenance of the quality management system runs effectively. In addition, the results of this audit are expected to provide input to continuously improve the implementation of the quality management system at FTUI.”
The scope of this internal audit includes academic and student administration service processes and supporting processes in 7 Departments and 9 Units within FTUI. For two days, from 1 to 2 November 2023, the auditors carried out tasks involving reporting, report writing, and submission of audit reports.
“The results of this audit will guide FTUI in making improvements so that FTUI can continue to develop as a centre of excellence. We will make every input and recommendation from this audit as an evaluation material to continue to provide the best service for FTUI students. With the cooperation of all parties, I am sure FTUI will further strengthen its position as the best Engineering campus in Indonesia,” said the Dean of FTUI, Prof. Dr. Heri Hermansyah, S.T., M.Eng., IPU.
After the internal audit is completed, the next step is to improve the findings that emerged during the audit process. These findings will later be reviewed at the management review meeting to plan concrete improvement steps. The implementation of this internal audit week is expected to be a preparation before the external audit takes place in early December so that FTUI can maintain ISO 9001: 2015 certification.
