To broaden its horizons and support interdisciplinary collaboration in engineering, the Faculty of Engineering of Udayana University paid a visit to the Faculty of Engineering, University of Indonesia (FTUI) on Friday (10/11). The FT Universitas Udayana delegation was led by Prof. Ir. I Nyoman Budiarsa, M.T., Ph.D., IPU. Vice Dean for Academic and Planning of Udayana University and received directly by Prof. Ir. Mahmud Sudibandriyo, M.Sc., Ph.D., Vice Dean for Resources, Ventures and General Administration of FTUI.
This visit was carried out with the main purpose of obtaining information related to three new units of FTUI, the Engineering Interdisciplinary Education and Research Unit, especially for interdisciplinary study programmes at FTUI, namely, Energy Systems Engineering and Regional and City Planning (PWK). In addition, the visit was also aimed at understanding innovations in modernising engineering education and exploring integrated education laboratories, particularly FTUI’s i-CELL.
In his speech, Prof Mahmud said, “This visit is not only a form of exchange of experiences between higher education institutions but also as a first step to build the potential for further cooperation. Collaboration in areas such as Energy Systems Engineering and PWK is expected to open doors for joint projects, research, and student exchanges between the two universities.”
“Our visit to the Faculty of Engineering, University of Indonesia, was primarily aimed at exploring and understanding in more depth the three new units of FTUI. We believe collaboration between universities in this aspect can be a strong foundation for the exchange of knowledge, experience, and even potential joint projects in the future. We hope that this visit can enrich the perspective and practice of education at Udayana University,” said Prof. I Nyoman Budiarsa.
Prof. Heri Hermansyah said, “We are committed to sharing experiences and best practices in developing engineering education innovations. Moreover, we see this visit as an opportunity to strengthen education and research cooperation between the two universities. This collaboration will not only bring excellent benefits but also have a positive impact in facing challenges and advancing the world of engineering education in Indonesia.”
With this spirit of collaboration, the Faculty of Engineering of Udayana University and the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Indonesia hope to inspire each other and advance the world of engineering education and research in Indonesia.
