Amato Rudolph, a driver from FTUI, won the ISSOM 2023 National Car Race.

Good studies, has good achievements (brilliant), and feels right attached to him. In one year, he has been on the podium twice for winning competitions. After winning in September, Muhammad Aqsha Aufarahim Amato Rudolph won again at the Indonesia Sentul Series of Motorsport (ISSOM) 2023 competition. This time, Amato, who is a student of the Faculty of Engineering (FT) at the University of Indonesia (UI), took 1st place in the Indonesia Touring Car Race (ITCR) 1200 Series 6 2023.

The young driver who is a member of the Toyota Gazzo Racing Indonesia (TGRI) Team won after a dramatic race. He started the race in second position but was able to conquer the difficult corners at SIC and finish as First Champion in the ITCR 1200 class. Amato drove the Toyota All New Agya GR Sport skilfully, reaching the finish line in the first position after a challenging 12-lap race. With this win, Amato completes his training at TGRI and is ready to compete full-time next year.

“This victory is the result of consistency in learning and evaluating. I am committed to consistently winning since the second series in this championship. Alhamdulillah, the experience of winning two podiums this year will be a valuable provision to face and maintain enthusiasm in the upcoming racing season,” said Amato.

He managed to make history by being on the podium twice in the ITCR 1200 class, having previously won 1st place in the ITCR 1200 Series 3 2023. With great enthusiasm, Amato said, “This racing championship is the most prestigious in Indonesia today. I am very grateful to be able to reach the first podium twice in ITCR 2023. The tremendous support from the FTUI academic community provided a tremendous positive boost.”

Meanwhile, the support and upbringing of his parents, who taught Amato to balance his studies and hobbies, has been his guiding principle to this day. Therefore, even though he focuses on his hobbies to achieve achievements, he does not leave his educational obligations.

The Dean of FTUI, Prof. Dr Heri Hermansyah, S.T., M.Eng., IPU, highly appreciated Amato’s achievement on Sunday (19/11). “Amato’s ambition and dedication in achieving achievements is an example that other students should follow. Two podiums in one year is clear evidence that his perseverance and hard work produce consistent achievements,” said Prof Heri.
