The FTUI Interdisciplinary Master Program in Urban and Regional Planning Achieves Very Good Accreditation from BAN-PT

The Master’s Program in Interdisciplinary Regional and Urban Planning at the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Indonesia (FTUI), has successfully obtained its first accreditation with a rating of “Very Good” from the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT). This result was achieved after the program underwent a field assessment on Tuesday (21/11), as part of the accreditation process conducted by BAN-PT to assess and determine the quality status of higher education institutions based on established criteria.

Prof. Dr. Ir. Widodo Wahyu Purwanto, DEA., Head of the Education and Research Unit of Interdisciplinary Engineering (UP2IK) and Chair of the Graduate Program in Interdisciplinary overseeing the Regional and Urban Planning program, stated, “The assessment process that has been carried out serves as a foundation to gather input and constructive feedback, enabling us to continuously improve the quality and academic governance of FTUI, especially in Regional and Urban Planning. With a commitment involving all parties to make improvements and innovations, FTUI will be able to achieve even higher standards of academic excellence.”

Meanwhile, the Dean of FTUI, Prof. Dr. Heri Hermansyah, ST., M.Eng., IPU, expressed his hopes for the accreditation obtained, saying, “This accreditation process is evidence of FTUI’s commitment to maintaining and improving the standards of higher education, particularly in the field of regional and urban planning. FTUI will continue to strive to meet the challenges of the development of science and technology through academic improvement. Hopefully, in the future, the Regional and Urban Planning program at FTUI can further enhance its accreditation and achieve the status of excellence.”

Dr.-Ing. Ova Candra Dewi, S.T., M.Sc., Head of the Master’s Program in Interdisciplinary Regional and Urban Planning at FTUI, conveyed that the “Very Good” rating as the result of the first accreditation represents the quality of education in the Interdisciplinary Regional and Urban Planning program at FTUI. She mentioned, “The previous assessment process covered several aspects, such as macro-institutional development policies, face-to-face systems, management systems, document checks, confirmation of the implementation of university management for functional areas, as well as the involvement of educational staff, lecturers, students, alumni, and external stakeholders, summarized in the Program Performance Report (LKPS) and Self-Evaluation Report (LED).”
