The first meeting of the Independent Learning Committee for the Independent Campus (MBKM) of the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Indonesia (FTUI) was held on Thursday, February 3, 2022. This first meeting discussed the Standard Operational Procedures (POB) for MBKM Implementation for FTUI Students, general MBKM requirements for students and the form of outputs, types of assessment and credit transfer processes for the implementation of MBKM at FTUI.
This first meeting was also attended by the Vice Dean for Education, Research and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ir. Yanuar, M.Eng., M.Sc., Head of Education Modernization and Internationalization Unit, Prof. Dr. Ir. Harinaldi, M.Eng., Associate Dean for Academic, Dr. Nyoman Suwartha, ST., MT., MAgr., and representatives from each department who have been appointed as members of the FTUI MBKM Committee.
The FTUI MBKM Committee itself was initiated by the Education Modernization and Internationalization Unit (MODIRPEN) in coordination with the Associate Dean for Academic. “Modirpen FTUI is a think tank unit that helps formulate POB and other documents to support the implementation of MBKM at FTUI including the assessment process, MBKM credit transfer process and what documents are needed related to cooperation with partner institutions,” said Prof. Harinaldi.
Currently there are twelve MBKM programs that FTUI students can participate in: Student Exchange (overseas students), Bangkit Program, Teaching Campus, GERILYA Independent Study, Internship/Industrial Work Practice, Village Building, Independent Campus Young Fighters, Humanitarian Projects, Research/Research, Independent Study/Project, and Entrepreneurship. FTUI itself has an obligation to fulfill Performance Contracts related to MBKM, namely 10% of FT students carry out MBKM with a minimum weight of 20 credits off campus.
“Until the end of the 2021/2022 Odd Semester Academic Year, there were more than 1000 (17.41%) FTUI students who had participated in the MBKM program. The programs they participate in include the MSIB program, Bangkit, Young Fighters, IISMA and internships at Pertamina as well as accepting MBKM program students from other universities,” said Dr. Nyoman.
At this meeting, an evaluation of the MBKM program that has been running was also carried out and accommodated all suggestions and input from committee members in a hybrid way to be taken into consideration in the formulation of the MBKM POB at FTUI.
