For even semester 2021/2022 lectures, the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Indonesia (FTUI) accepts five foreign students from Romania and France through a student exchange program coordinated with the UI International Affairs Office. The welcoming event for foreign students is organized in “UI Virtual Orientation Day” which was held on Wednesday, January 26, 2022.
“UI Virtual Orientation Day is an important part to start the next semester at FTUI for exchange students,” said Dr. Nyoman Suwartha, S.T., M.T., M.Agr., FTUI Associate Dean for Academic. Dr. Nyoman also explained three important things that need to be considered by foreign students who will study at FTUI in this even semester. The three things are an explanation of FTUI’s profile, FTUI’s departmental and student structure, and the academic registration process at the UI Faculty of Engineering. Apart from Dr. Nyoman, the Heads and Secretaries of the Departments of the Faculty of Engineering were also present.
The Dean of FTUI, Prof. Dr. Heri Hermansyah, ST., M.Eng., IPU welcomed the presence of foreign students at FTUI. “As a World Class University, FTUI has accepted many foreign students from various countries in the world. This is evidenced by the foreign cooperation that FTUI has established with 51 universities in the world during 2018-2021.”
Head of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, FTUI, Ayomi Dita Rararsati, S.T., M.T., Ph.D. welcomes the arrival of one student exchange student for the Masters program,
Julien Paublant from IMT Nord Europe, France. “Foreign exchange students get 15 credits in one semester. The department also provides credit for foreign students to spend on additional courses,” said Dr. Ayomi in her speech.
“Thank you exchange program students for choosing the Department of Architecture. The Department has prepared several courses that will be held next semester. This course will also be held together with international class students at UI Architecture. These courses include Introduction to Sustainability, Acoustics, Heritage Architecture, 2D Digital Communication,” said Kristanti Dewi Paramitha, Ph.D, Secretary of the Department of Architecture. The Department of Architecture itself accepted three undergraduate exchange students from Gheorghe Asachi Technical University, Romania. The three students are Amina Parasca, Ciobanu Andra, and Paval Andreea Lacramioara.
Dr. Zulkarnain, Secretary of the Department of Industrial Engineering displays the course page at SIAK NG for selected foreign students. “On this page, foreign students can choose existing courses. The list of courses on this page is designed for foreign students with the language of instruction, namely English.” The Department of Industrial Engineering accepted one foreign student for an undergraduate exchange program from Polytech Angers, France, namely Victor Denis B. Weller.
