On Friday, June 24, 2022, Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) held a seminar with the theme Smart Investment with BSI. The activity, which was held in the K301 Auditorium building, was open to lecturers and education staff (tendik) of the Faculty of Engineering, University of Indonesia. The activity was opened by Prof. Ir. Mahmud Sudibandriyo, M.Sc., Ph.D., Deputy Dean for Resources, Ventures and General Administration and Mr. Jajang Abdul Karim, Depok Area Manager, PT Bank Syariah Indonesia, Tbk.
“I would like to thank Bank BSI for taking the time to come to FTUI today. Later the BSI bank will describe how we can invest in sharia. This presentation will be delivered by Mr. Jajang. Pak Jajang turned out to be an alumnus of FTUI from Industrial Engineering class of 2000,” said Prof. Mahmud.
In his speech, Jajang Abdul Karim expressed his pleasure to be back at FTUI. “This time I returned to FTUI in a different atmosphere, after a long time I graduated”. He explained that BSI bank is ranked 7th in terms of assets from around 107 commercial banks registered with the OJK and is the largest Islamic bank in Indonesia.
Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) is a combination of Islamic banking owned by BUMN, namely Bank Syariah Mandiri, BNI Syariah, and BRI Syariah. With this merger, the banking system and services offered by Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) have become very broad and comprehensive. In addition, the program offered is also based on the sharia system so that it is different from other banking systems.
BSI’s banking system services also vary. Some of those offered on this occasion are Easy Mudharabah Savings, Griya Hasanah, Gold Installments, and Hajj Savings. With the programs offered, it is hoped that lecturers, staff, and all FTUI staff can carefully select profitable banking programs in the future. In addition, this seminar on investment banking can also open other collaborations that will be established between BSI and the UI Faculty of Engineering.
