The Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Indonesia (FTUI) again participated in the 2023 TMMIN Supply Chain Exhibition organized by PT Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indonesia (TMMIN) on February 9-10 2023. This activity is located at PT TMMIN Plant 3 in the KIIC Industrial Area, Karawang, West Java.
In this activity which was attended by various PT TMMIN automotive component suppliers, FTUI was represented by the Research Center for Advanced Vehicles (RCAVe) and the Innovation Entrepreneurial Unit (WIN). Dr. Ir. Ferry Yusivar, M.Eng. as Head of RCAVe and Dr. Muhamad Sahlan, S.Si., M.Eng. as the Head of the FTUI Innovation Entrepreneurial Unit also attended this exhibition.
Dr. Ir. Ferry Yusivar, M.Eng. conveyed, “RCAVe’s participation in this activity is expected to be a means to further introduce the results of automotive component innovation research by FTUI inventors to the public. Apart from that, this activity can be a medium for exchanging information so that FTUI can also exchange knowledge with automotive component manufacturing industry players.”
The series of events was officially opened by the Vice President Director of PT TMMIN, Mr. Nandi Julyanto. In his remarks, Mr. Nandi expressed his hope that all exhibitors who are also Toyota’s level 1 and level 2 suppliers can become more united in developing the automotive component industry ecosystem in Indonesia.
On this occasion, RCAVe showcased several of its innovative products, namely:
- inverters,
- Inverters with cooling systems,
- Power Distribution Unit (PDU) for electric private cars,
- Power Distribution Unit (PDU) for electric buses,
- PSMS Motor,
- Sigma Delta Modulated Current Sensors,
- Inverters (Molina EV-2),
- Vehicle Control Unit (VCU).
“These eight automotive innovation products are proof that FTUI continues to innovate and is actively developing products that it feels are necessary to help Indonesia become self-sufficient in the automotive sector. Hopefully, in the future the Indonesian automotive industry will be more friendly and filled with innovative automotive products made by domestic children,” said the Dean of FTUI, Prof. Dr. Heri Hermansyah, ST., M.Eng., IPU.
Dr. Muhamad Sahlan, S.Si., M.Eng. added, “Participating in this exhibition is also FTUI’s effort to further develop local automotive component products. Therefore, the FTUI WIN Unit is very open to the potential for collaboration with automotive manufacturers to manufacture components that are needed by the Indonesian people directly in the country.”
