Inspiring Educational Achievements: FTUI Gives Special Awards to Lecturers and Education Personnel

Still in the series of 59th Anniversary celebrations, the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Indonesia (FTUI) again gave special awards to lecturers and education personnel who have shown high dedication in conducting research, curriculum development, and providing quality teaching at FTUI.

The Satyalancana Dharma Makara award is given to lecturers and education staff who have served for 15 and 25 years at FTUI. In 2023, FTUI expanded the range of awards by adding a new category, the Dharma Makara Mahaguru Award. This category is reserved for FTUI Permanent Professors who have served for 10 and 20 years. The award reflects their contribution to advancing education, science and technology in producing excellent graduates from the UI Faculty of Engineering and impacting the development of the country.

The Satyalancana Dharma Makara and Dharma Makara Mahaguru Awards were held on Wednesday (09/08) and given to 97 FTUI Professors, Lecturers, and Education Personnel. Satyalancana pinning was carried out by the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Indonesia, Prof. Dr. Heri Hermansyah, S.T., M.Eng., IPU to representatives of the honorees.

In his speech, the Dean of FTUI, Prof. Dr. Heri Hermansyah, S.T., M.Eng., IPU, explained, “It is appropriate for us from management to continue the things that are good and improvise on things that can be improved. The addition of the Satyalancana Dharma Makara Mahaguru award this year is a form of sincere appreciation for the extraordinary dedication of the FTUI Professors.”

Prof. Heri also said that this award is not only to give appreciation to lecturers and education personnel who have made extraordinary contributions to the development of science and education at FTUI but it is also expected to encourage young lecturers to strive to achieve the position of Professor at a relatively young age.

The pinning of Satyalancana Dharma Makara with 15 years of service was represented by Ayomi Dita Rarasati, S.T., M.T., Ph.D. from the Department of Civil Engineering, Dr. Yudan Whulanza, S.T., M.Sc. from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Amida Wahyuningsih, and Ady Krismana representing 25 other Lecturers and Education Personnel.

Meanwhile, the Satyalancana Dharma Makara award with 25 years of service was pinned to Prof. Dr. Fitri Yuli Zulkifli, S.T., M.Sc. from the Department of Electrical Engineering, Dr. Bambang Heru Susanto, ST. MT. from the Department of Chemical Engineering, as well as Mulyadi and Saidah Ahmad who represented 31 other Lecturers and Education Personnel.

For the category of Satyalancana Dharma Makara Mahaguru with 10 years of service, represented by Prof. Dr. Ir. Akhmad Herman Yuwono, M.Phil.Eng., from the Department of Metallurgy and Materials Engineering, and Prof. Dr. Ir. Nji Raden Poespawati, MT, from the Department of Electrical Engineering who represented 39 other FTUI Permanent Professors.

Finally, the Satyalancana Dharma Makara Mahaguru award with 20 years of service was given to Prof. Dr. Ir. Budi Susilo Soepandji, DEA, from the Department of Civil Engineering, and Prof. Dr. Ir. Eddy Sumarno Siradj, M.Sc., from the Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering.

“This award is a form of our recognition and appreciation for the tireless efforts of lecturers and education personnel in shaping future leaders and producing quality research. Their spirit is in line with FTUI’s vision as an educational and research institution committed to real contributions to the progress of the nation and society,” said Prof. Heri.

The event was also a moment to commemorate the spirit of collaboration and community at FTUI and to motivate all awardees to continue to give their best in continuing their educational and research journey.
