The Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Indonesia (FTUI) held another Introduction to the Faculty Academic System (PSAF) event on Tuesday (15/08). Located in Balairung UI, PSAF for Undergraduate and Postgraduate programs this time was held in one series of events.
The series of PSAF began by presenting a welcome video to new students who managed to become part of the FTUI academic community through various selection channels. In an atmosphere of enthusiasm, Prof. Dr. Heri Hermansyah, ST., M.Eng., IPU, as the Dean of FTUI, gave congratulations and a warm welcome to all FTUI new students.
In his speech, Prof. Heri expressed his optimistic hopes for the new undergraduate and postgraduate students. “Let us together shape an academic journey that is not only full of achievements, but also full of meaning and superior contributions to ourselves, campus, and nation,” said Prof. Heri.
The event then continued with a video presentation that illustrates the journey of students throughout the study period, from the first step to the moment of graduation. Prof. Heri also introduced FTUI faculty and department management for the 2022-2026 period, as well as representatives from the Alumni Association (ILUNI), Student Consultative Assembly (MPM), Student Executive Board (BEM), and FTUI Postgraduate Engineering Student Association (IMPASTEK).
No less interesting, the PSAF Talkshow session presented 4 speakers, namely Dr. Nyoman Suwartha, S.T., M.T., M.Agr. (Education Manager), Prof. Dr. Ir. Harinaldi, M.Eng. (Head of Education Modernization and Internationalization Unit), Dr.rer.pol. Romadhani Ardi, S.T., M.T. (Manager of Student Affairs, Research and Community Service), and Prof. Dr. Ir. Widodo Wahyu Purwanto, DEA (Head of Engineering Interdisciplinary Education and Research Unit). Hosted by Nevine Rafa Kusuma, S.Ars., M.A., this talk show explained various important aspects that students need to pay attention to during their education at FTUI.
Dr. Nyoman reviewed the urgency of Student Data Entry (IDM), the impact of incorrectly filling in the Study Plan (IRS), and the study evaluation limit table. Furthermore, Prof. Harinaldi provided insight into the prohibition of plagiarism and cheating and other academic fraud. Meanwhile, Dr. Romadhani discussed the importance of maintaining mental health and the prohibition of smoking in the campus environment. Finally, Prof. Widodo explained the publication obligations at the S2 and S3 levels and research ethics in making publications.
The implementation of the PSAF in 2023 was enthusiastically welcomed by the new students. FTUI proudly welcomed 2479 new students consisting of 1663 undergraduate students, 643 master students, 131 professional students, and 42 doctoral students for the 2023/2024 academic year. This event is an important momentum in preparing new students to face academic challenges and achieve success in the FTUI academic environment.
