FTUI Facilitates Career and Study Opportunities with More than 10 Taiwanese Companies and Universities

The Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Indonesia, through the Career Development Center FTUI (CDC FTUI) organized Taiwan’s Semiconductor Talent Exchange. This activity aims to provide information and opportunities for young talents, especially from FTUI to get to know the various job prospects in semiconductor companies. Not only that, this activity also aims to inform various kinds of advanced study opportunities at leading universities in Taiwan.

This activity was the opening event of the Job Fair at FTUI, namely the Engineering Entrepreneurship, Career and Internship Fair (ECIF FTUI) which was held from September 18 to October 18, 2023. To introduce this activity, the first activity carried out was a webinar held online on August 16, 2023, with materials related to career development and mechanisms for working in Taiwan. In addition, in this online session, participants also had the opportunity to get to know universities in Taiwan that open scholarship programs and opportunities for further study.

Not only that, this activity was continued offline by bringing various companies and universities from Taiwan to the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Indonesia. The event was held on September 18 in the Lobby of Building K, FTUI, and was filled with various leading companies in the semiconductor sector and universities in Taiwan.

“Semiconductor is one of the fastest growing industries and offers many opportunities for young talents to make a career and contribute to an industry that continues to innovate. This activity not only provides important information about career prospects in the semiconductor industry to FTUI students and alumni but also opens doors for further study at leading universities in Taiwan. This is a very strategic step to prepare Indonesia’s young generation to face future challenges and opportunities,” said the Dean of FTUI, Prof. Dr. Heri Hermasnyah, S.T., M.Eng., IPU.

The companies and universities that participated in this activity were: ASE, Nanya, Micron, Ardentec, and UMC. Meanwhile, the list of participating universities is National Taiwan University, National Cheng Kung University, National Tsing Hua University, National Taipei University of Technology: Taipei Tech, National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University, and Chang Gung University.

This cooperation can certainly open up career and study opportunities for the participants who participate. In addition, this activity is also a venue for cooperation between FTUI and Taiwan in the employment and education sectors. FTUI hopes that this activity will provide valuable insights to participants, help them better understand the world of the semiconductor industry, and plan a career or further study that suits their interests and goals.
