On Tuesday (29/9), the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Indonesia (FTUI) welcomed 120 students of the cooperation class education program from PT PLN for the academic year 2023/2024. The ceremony was held in a hybrid manner, in the Smart Meeting Room, FTUI Deanery and Zoom Meeting. The students are studying in 5 master’s level study programs, namely Energy Systems Engineering, Energy Conversion and Conservation, Energy and Power Management, Electric Power and Intelligent Systems, and Sustainable Energy and Process Engineering.
Prof. Dr. Heri Hermansyah, ST, M.Eng, IPU, Dean of FTUI in his speech said, “Thank you for PT PLN’s trust in FTUI. We will educate the students from PT PLN professionally by applicable procedures and academics. From entry assistance to graduation, hopefully, these 120 students will become graduates who have an impact on PT PLN and energy development. We hope that the educational cooperation can continue to the doctoral level.”
Imam Bari as Senior Manager of Formal Education Partnership Development of PT PLN (Persero) Pusdiklat expressed his gratitude for the opportunity that FTUI gave to PT PLN. The further education that PT PLN provides to its employees is useful for the development of the electricity system in Indonesia. PT PLN provides educational assignments to domestic and foreign universities. He advised the students to be enthusiastic in learning.
The activity continued with the handover of the UI Yellow Jacket alma mater by Prof. Dr. Heri Hermansyah, ST, M.Eng, IPU, Dean of FTUI and Imam Bari as Senior Manager of Formal Education Partnership Development of PT PLN (Persero) Pusdiklat to representatives of cooperation students.
At the end of the event, FTUI held an inaugural lecture delivered by Prof. Widodo. This inaugural lecture was themed “Power SystemsTransition to Achieve NZE Goals. Challenges and Key Enabling Technologies.” Prof. Widodo said that the goal of Net Zero Emission (NZE) is in 2060. In realizing this vision, PT PLN plays an important role in electrification. In addition, the use of renewable energy and energy efficiency can be applied to achieve NZE.
