FTUI Expands Cooperation with Mines Nancy

On Monday (13/11) the Faculty of Engineering of Universitas Indonesia received a delegation from Mines Nancy, which took place in the FTUI Senate Room. The visit was made to explore educational and research collaborations in fields related to material science, computers, and energy.

“We welcome the presence of Mines Nancy to open collaboration with FTUI in the fields of education and research. It is hoped that it can produce good cooperation and have a positive impact on each party,” said Prof. Ir. Mahmud Sudibandriyo, M.Sc., Ph.D. as Deputy Dean for Resources, Ventures and General Administration of FTUI in his speech.

Prof. Dr. Ir. Harinaldi, Head of FTUI’s Education Modernisation and Internationalisation Unit, also responded positively to Mines Nancy’s offer of cooperation. “We at FTUI have done a lot of double degree cooperation with several foreign universities. Previously, FTUI has also established close cooperation with several universities in France, so we hope FTUI can expand its cooperation with Mines Nancy.”

Representative of Mines Nancy, Alexandre Nomine (Head of International Relations Office, Associate Professor, Materials Science Department) explained several cooperation offers, namely an Internship at Mines Nancy Tech Lab, where Mines Nancy provides opportunities for students to work at Tech Lab. Tech Lab is an industry that focuses on developing innovative technology in the fields of Robotics, Materials, Urban Loop, Cyber, AI, and 5G. In addition, Mines Nancy also has an Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Greenano programme (the programme is given in English) in the fields of Nanomaterials and Green Technology; Technology & Engineering Exchange Program which can last for 1-2 semesters.

Dean of FTUI, Prof. Dr. Heri Hermansyah, S.T., M.Eng., IPU. said, “International cooperation like this is one of the main pillars in making the Faculty of Engineering a superior and impactful campus. By sharing knowledge, experience, and resources, we can better face global challenges. Cross-border education and research opens the door for faster innovation and progress.”

The results of the discussion gave birth to prospects for collaboration that will be explored by FTUI and Mines Nancy, namely the first Agreement on Exchange Program, where the next stage is expected to immediately compile and ratify the MOU, cooperation in student exchange programmes. Mines Nancy offers English language courses in AI/Big Data and Materials Science. Furthermore, Staff Exchange Cooperation, and finally Internship programme cooperation at Mines Nancy Tech Lab with a 1-year scheme (6 months for the lecture programme and 6 months for the internship programme).

The delegation from Mines Nancy was represented by Alexandre Nomine (Head of the International Relations Office, Associate Professor, Materials Science Department), Tatiana Banderova (International Promotion Manager, Coordinator of European Projects, Communication Department), and Gema Akbar Pratama (Deputy Attaché for University Cooperation, Institut Francais Indonesia).
