Two Aalto University Students from Finland Embark on Study Exchange at FTUI

Marcus August Forsman and Juuso Samuel Syrjala, two students from Aalto University in Finland, are set to participate in a study exchange program at FTUI. Marcus will be studying in the Mechanical Engineering program, while Juuso Samuel will be enrolled in the Electrical Engineering program. Both students have undergone a study exchange orientation and a tutorial on filling out the IRS (Academic Information System) on Tuesday (23/01).

This orientation is designed for international students attending classes in the second semester of the academic year 2023/2024 at FTUI. The purpose of the orientation is to assist with the academic registration process and convey the lecture procedures at FTUI. Additionally, international students can seek consultation regarding their upcoming courses. The orientation covers three main agendas: student introduction, SIAK-NG tutorial, and course recommendations.

“We have already looked at the list of available courses. Many of them are interesting,” said Marcus. Samuel also added, “We are also looking forward to cultural lessons, such as Indonesian language or Gamelan.”

FTUI Dean, Prof. Dr. Ir. Heri Hermansyah, S.T., M.Eng., IPU, expressed, “Their presence brings international spirit to our academic environment, creating valuable opportunities for knowledge and cultural exchange. This is a concrete step in realizing our vision to become a global learning centre that connects students with diverse learning experiences.”

In addition to the two international students, the orientation was attended by Dr. Nyoman Suwartha, S.T., M.T., M.Agr., the Education Manager; Fadhilah Muslim, S.T., M.Sc., Ph.D., DIC, the Head of FTUI International Office; Dr.-Ing. Ridho Irwansyah, S.T., M.T., representing the Department of Mechanical Engineering; I Gde Dharma Nugraha, S.T., M.T., Ph.D., representing the Department of Electrical Engineering; Amilia Novitasari, S.Sos, M.M., the Education Manager Assistant; and Zafira R. Ummah, S.Ars., M.Ars., the International Mobility Coordinator.
