On January 29-30, 2024, the Modernization and Internationalization Unit of the Faculty of Engineering, University of Indonesia, organized a consigning meeting for Special International Classes (KKI), held at The Alana Hotel & Conference Center – Sentul City. The consigning event aimed to evaluate the implementation and development plans of the FTUI’s KKI undergraduate program.
In his opening speech, Deputy Dean for Education, Research, and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ir. Yanuar, M.Eng., M.Sc., emphasized the importance of evaluating the KKI Program to assess the academic achievements and progress of KKI undergraduate students. It is also seen as FTUI’s effort to enhance the quality of the KKI educational process.
Head of the Modernization and Internationalization Unit of FTUI, Prof. Dr. Ir. Harinaldi, M.Eng., also stated, “We are continuously striving to improve the curriculum quality and the quality of instructors to create a competitive KKI program and graduates in the international arena. Additionally, this year, we plan to expand the list of new partners for Double Degree collaborations to attract more interest from prospective students.”
A similar sentiment was expressed by FTUI Dean, Prof. Dr. Ir. Heri Hermansyah, S.T., M.Eng., IPU., “FTUI remains committed to advancing international education standards within the FTUI community. Both academic improvements and service towards KKI students are our common concerns. This consigning session is expected to identify the challenges faced in running this program, how to overcome them, and improve them so that our program can develop and become better in terms of quality and quantity.”
This consigning event provided an opportunity for the Modernization Unit – FTUI International Office to present academic data of KKI undergraduate students and engage in discussions with participants on issues related to KKI undergraduate students, quotas, and criteria for Double Degree students at each partner university, promotion strategies for KKI undergraduate and Double Degree S2/S3 programs, as well as presenting the curriculum structure for Double Degree KKI undergraduate programs and the graduation rates of KKI undergraduate Double Degree students for each department.
The consigning event was attended by Prof. Dr. Ir. Yanuar, M.Eng., M.Sc., Deputy Dean for Education, Research, and Student Affairs; Dr. Nyoman Suwartha, S.T., M.T., M.Agr., Education Manager; Prof. Dr. Ir. Winarto, M.Sc., Head of the Academic Quality Assurance Unit; Prof. Dr. Ir. Harinaldi, M.Eng., Head of the Modernization and Internationalization Unit; as well as the heads and secretaries of FTUI departments.
