Twelve students from the Department of Architecture (DA) at the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Indonesia (FTUI), showcased their works at the ARCH:ID event. The event is an architecture forum initiated by the Indonesian Architects Association (IAI) and held for the fourth time this year with the theme “PLACEMAKING: TOLERANCE.” The exhibited works by FTUI students include Carbon Tower by Aisyah Az Zahra, Go(l)d Damn! by Alya Widha, Grow Up! by Arilatania Fanesa, Teraverti by Dendang Belantara, Tarzoo by Dzikra Alfiati, Tirta Sajege by Felicia Felim, Hemo; sync by Koming Sawitri, U-Tuber by Ladifta Arindra Chandra, Ume Naje by M. Arief Kurniawan, Cleanse by Nadhira Dwiathayya, Modumosa by Nisrina Ismu, and Waste Respiratory by Shinta Annisa.
Shinta Annisa says, “The works we showcased encourage innovation in multidisciplinary problem-solving, encompassing aspects of verticality, mobility, and technology, to contribute critical thinking and sustainable solutions for the future urban evolution.”
Meanwhile, the Head of the FTUI Department of Architecture, Dr. Ir. Achmad Hery Fuad, M.Eng., stated that the Fourth Edition of ARCH:ID serves as both an architecture forum and a trade event held annually. This industry event offers interesting activities and programs and serves as an ideal platform for architects, builders, and other stakeholders to unite, collaborate, and build strong networks.
“The FTUI Department of Architecture strongly supports the organization of this event and hopes to attract more public interest in architectural works and their impact on the wider community,” said Dr. Ir. Achmad.
ARCH:ID, guided by renowned curators such as Ar. Yacobus Gatot S. Surarjo, IAI, Ar. Nelly Daniel, IAI, and Ar. I Ketut Dirgantara, IAI, features world-class exhibitions and conferences and various engaging programs and content such as ARCH:ID Talk Series, Tuju-Tuju Talk, and BIM Adoption. Industry experts and thought leaders will share their knowledge, making each ARCH:ID event an extraordinary experience. This time, ARCH:ID was held from February 22 to 25, 2024, at ICE BSD City, Tangerang, in collaboration with the PT CIS Exhibition.
Regarding the participation of its students, FTUI Dean, Prof. Dr. Ir. Heri Hermansyah, S.T., M.Eng., IPU., expressed, “We are very proud to see the contributions of our students in The Fourth Edition of ARCH:ID. This time, ARCH:ID not only involves practitioners such as architects, designers, product distributors, and fabricators as usual but also showcases experimental works envisioning how the future of placemaking can integrate with technological advancements, especially in the context of tall buildings in urban areas.”
